This week the long awaited Nikon D4 has finally be revealed. The new top of the line full frame camera succeeds the D3S DSLR. Making sure to take things to the next level, Nikon packed the camera with a 16.2 megapixel sensor and an extended ISO to 204,800, as well as a brand new full-frame FX-format sensor. YouTube Preview Image

Check out this action packed video pitting Canon commandos versus a rogue team of Nikon fighters who take an innocent hostage. We sense a big budget Hollywood remake with Steven Seagal and Tommy Lee Jones reprising their roles from Under Siege, without the knife in Tommy’s head, though. Anyway, be sure to check this video out.

Nikon 1 Digital Cameras

Nikon is finally also moving into the mirror-less camera space and will be introducing small interchangeable lense cameras with their all new Nikon 1 model.

For the start they introduce the Nikon 1 J1 (650 USD) and the Nikon 1 V1 (900 USD). In terms of design we can certainly not complain, both look modern, yet have that certain vintage camera inspiration that we like. In terms of functionality, things are also looking promising. Btoh cameras “will feature 10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensors and will introduce a new interchangeable mount system which includes a 10-30mm f/3.5, 30-110mm f/3.8, 10mm f/2.8, a 10-100mm f/3.5 zoom, and of course, a F-mount adapter for any existing Nikkor glass you might have. The camera will also feature a high speed hybrid autofocus system, and the new EXPEED 3 image processing engine.”

While the J1 will come in a series of colors, the V1 flagship model only comes in classic black.
