We take a look at first new styles coming from Nixon for Fall 2009. The brand does not have many competitors in their price class and does a great job keeping this niche of mid priced watches for the younger generation to them. We really like the minimalist approach the brand is taking this Fall. The watches remind us a little of the Braun watches from the 80’s. Minimalist design, classic colors, yet a sense of modernism. New models this season include The Chronicle, The Mellor and The Newton Digital.

We actually thought that the Nixon Rubber Player push was over with the release of the yellow colorway. Sure looks like we were wrong. Today we see the all rubber covered watch in two great new colorways – purple and black. Actually we prefer especially the purple over the previous releases. You can get these two now from 80s Purple.

After releasing blue, red and green rubber versions of their iconic Player Watch in March, April and May respectively, this eye-catching canary yellow timepiece represents the fourth and final color in Nixon’s 4 x 4 Rubber Player series. Having established a considerable level of hype already, and limiting the release to 4 watches per retailer, this is sure to be a quick seller.

The May 2009 colorway of the limited edition Nixon Rubber Player watch is green. After releasing the blue and red versions before, this is the third in the set. The release date is set for May 15th

We take a look at some of the new Nixon watches for Spring/Summer 2009. Nixon has certainly come a long way and owns a good amount of the market of mid-price watches. They have found a perfect balance between price and quality, offering both timeless and more unique pieces, at a pricepoint that allows you to change seasonal.

We especially like the new colorways of the 4220 PU Chrono divers watch and the new Time Teller. The 4220 Chrono comes in some nice summer colorways and with rubber bracelet. The Time Teller looks great tonal in strong colors.

The 51-30 from the Nixon collection has always been our favorite model from the brand. The watch has a good size, Swiss movement, 300m stainless steel and mineral crystal glass. Now they have released two great new colorways – Gunmetal and All Gold/Brown.

Both of them are now available online.

Once again Nixon has produced a series of limited edition watches for Barneys. This time they are celebrating with Barneys the 50th anniversary of the peave sign. The capsule collection consists of four watches, each coming individually numbered and featuring a Japanese or Swiss movement.

Prices go from 500 USD to 8′800 USD, depending on materials used and availability. They are now available at Barneys Co-Op.

Nixon, a brand behind many an innovative watch, is branching out from time pieces to include headphones. Three designs appear set for release. Each is minimal, given the respective type of headphone. You’ve got robust home audio pieces, all the way down to ear buds. The use of stitched leathers for the padding puts the Nixon output a little ahead of the norm in their chosen price range ($40 to $200).

We just came across the new Nixon 51-30 "All Black". Ever since American Express introduced their black credit card, it certainly seems like black is the new gold. 
The Nixon 51-30 All Black is a waterman’s watch that can tackle depths of up to 300 meters while maintaining a sporty sense of class. Other features include stainless steel construction, Swiss movement, an external rotating bezel with countdown timer, and a crown set at 9:00 for maximum comfort. It is available with stainless steel bracelet or polyurethane band.
