Nike Sportswear re-opened their former iD space in New York City’s Nolita district. Now called 255 Studio, the space offers an interesting range of customized product by No Mas.

“On May 15th, Nike opened a first of its kind stand-alone conceptual retail destination. Located at 255 Elizabeth Street, 255 Studio is a culmination of sport and design brought together to offer an exclusive assortment of Nike Sportswear icons. Featuring a distinct apparel assortment and unique capabilities to personalize garments, each piece is crafted by a team of skilled Design Consultants. Offering specialized design tools and a variety of graphics, letters, and appliqués, 255 Studio is a contemporary and classic platform for constructing readymade and custom sportswear.

Nike Sportswear enlisted elite members of New York City’s creative community, No Mas, to bring a true celebration of sport and culture to the new 255 Studio. To celebrate baseball season, No Mas brought inspiration from their travel experiences in countries known for their die-hard loyalty to baseball and its traditions: Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Japan. The result was “Hogar y Visitantes” (Home and Visitors) an installation and custom garment program that integrates cultural cues and iconic symbols unique to each nation, as well as, their relationship to the ultimate baseball mecca: New York City.

Consumers can select from a robust assortment of unique apparel and embellishment created exclusively within 255 Studio, or can customize the experience with a 255 Studio Design Consultant. These one-on-one appointments allow the consumer to choose from a menu of applications applied to Nike Sportswear icons. A consumer can also draw inspiration from the available graphics to embark on a bespoke experience resulting in a garment that is truly one of a kind and available immediately.

Immediately following the “Hogar y Visitantes” installation, No Mas will bring the excitement of the global celebration of football in time for the start of the games through a rich personalization design offering opening on June 1st.”

The space looks beautiful and the gear is also very appealing. The mix of high quality Nike Sportswear apparel with the unique sports touch from No Mas is great and we cannot wait to visit the space.

The store will be open both by appointment and walk-in, Tues-Fri 11am-7pm and Sat-Sun 12pm-7pm.

After presenting last year their Lego Brooches, Dee & Ricky keep it interesting. This time they get together with sports inspired brand No Mas from New York. Taking vintage Starter jackets, they turned them into duffle bags.

These will be available very soon at Fred Segal’s, Conveyor, Colette (Paris) as well as Liqour Women and Tears (Japan). Via The Clones.

No Mas excels at mining the wide world of sports for the good, bad and ugly. These three themes open a myriad of opportunity for great design and witty plays on the facts and figures of everything from baseball to gin rummy. Current t-shirts show an interestin the three main vices of the gambler – horse racing, cards and, the greatest ofall, boxing. The shirt above replicates a tee once worn by the great Sonny Liston, and name checks one of the old Vegas haunts where fight fans once congregated. Ray Mancini gets his due as well. Other shirts celebrate a great horse, a massive loser and a guy who was awesome at makingloot on the casino floor. Now available from Boundless. 

PUMA and No Mas have been teaming up in 2008 with releases of the PUMA X No Mas First Round LA and LE (Boston) to further celebrate last year’s exhibition of “The Lottery”. This month, the PUMA First Round is inspired by the city of Seattle.

Highlights of the PUMA x No Mas First Round Seattle include a green and yellow colorway with a white on white leather with embroidered lottery balls, three sets of laces with “No Mas” branding on the lace tips and the outsole.

A very limited number of pairs will drop exclusively at GOODS Seattle on Wednesday, April 30th.

With gambling comes risk, and Professional Basketball’s Draft is always a gamble. The irony of the draft is unpredictable and often can make or break a team’s goal of creating a dynasty.  
To capture this feeling PUMA and No Mas teamed up and released the PUMA X No Mas First Rounds LA to further celebrate last year’s exhibition of “The Lottery”. This month, the PUMA First Round is inspired by the city of Boston and the loss of a rising star. Highlights of the PUMA X No Mas First Rounds LE include black on black leather with embroidered lottery balls, three sets of laces with “No Mas” branding on the lace tips and the outsole, and a band on the collar of the shoe saying “RIP”.  The band represents the armband that team members wear when they are mourning the loss of a teammate.
A very limited number of pairs will drop exclusively at BODEGA Boston on Monday, March 17th. Just in time to celebrate the life and death of a Boston draft pick that could have carried the team into their glory years, when they were winning back to back championships.

PUMA and No Mas team up again with 4 new versions of the PUMA X No Mas First Rounds.  These limited edition hi tops further celebrate last year’s exhibition “The Lottery”,   which explored the ups and downs of Professional Basketball’s draft.  The new executions take inspiration from the teams that have been impacted by it’s unpredictability.  
The first is an LA inspired shoe that draws from the strong legacy of the Lakers. With high lights including black leather with purple embroidered lottery balls, three sets of laces with “No Mas” on the lace tips and the outsole. A very limited number of pairs will drop exclusively at UNDEFEATED Las Vegas, at noon, on the 13th. Just in time for those who will be attending MAGIC.

We have reported about the No Mas x Puma First Round sneakers before and now we are getting close to the release. The sneakers will launch this coming Saturday, September 8th exclusively at Classic Kicks in New York City. There will only be 48 pairs worldwide released and all of them at Classic Kicks. A special website is set up for this collection, that will continue after this first launch – check it out here.
