Last night Spike Lee presented US President Barack Obama with a pair of Jordan Spiz’ikes. The shoes, a pair of Spiz’ike ‘Boredeaux (out February 2012) came packaged in a custom brown wood box emblazoned with the presidential seal. Do you think we’ll see Barack wearing these?

Shepard Fairey’s most prominent Obama artwork was featured on the cover of Time Magazine and used through-out the entire Obama campaign. Today we show you the latest Rolling Stone cover, which also features Obama and the artwork was once again created by Shepard Fairey. You can read the cover story here.

It is incredible how far Shepar Fairey has come, especially in recent months with is Obama artwork, which also ended up taking over the covers of Time Magazine and Esquire. This past week the artist was a guest on The Colbert Report and they talked about how the poster came about. Check it out.

January 20 is a big day for all Americans, a fact not lost on the Mishka design crew. Rather than throw up a full celebratory package for the inauguration they’ve given their “event” t-shirt a direct political bent. Optimism is high, but fears of politics being politics haven’t subsided everywhere. The “Bootleg Black Bart” T-Shirt is at once an ode to Young Jeezy as a shout to the new President. We might add that the Black Bart element lends some early ’90s flare too. Exclusive to the Mishka site starting January 16, 2009.

On January 20th the presidential inauguration ceremony of President Obama is taking place. We have seen lots of product for the occasion from several brands. It seems like Chicago’s St. Alfred has planned a special Nike Air Force 1. For now we can only show you the image above, more info on this release soon!

In preparation for the inauguration on January 20th, Stussy DC and Commonwealth will be combining forces for a party on the 19th. A few friends will be dropping by to provide entertainment. DC’s own Wale and UGK’s Bun B among them. The theme, following the reality of the inauguration, is “Historic.” Familiar Stussy and Commonwealth logos fill the required letters and combine with the now ubiquitous Obama “O,” for the related graphic, which will be released on special edition t-shirts. The kings of the Obama t-shirt, Undrcrwn, celebrate the inauguration by channeling Abraham Lincoln. Don’t catch the reference? Head down to DC on January 20th for the swearing in. They’ve thrown in a little ode to the Iceman George Gervin to keep their hoop roots afloat as well. The t-shirt is available direct from Undrcrwn starting January 9, 2009.

According to Play Cloths, January 20 marks the beginning of “The Good New Days.” Let’s hope so. Patriotic feeling abounds in their celebration t-shirt, giving their now familiar logo some stars and stripes appeal. Yet another support t-shirt for Obama comes and this time by artist Tom Sachs. The artist recently presented a series of large scale Hello Kitty sculptures. The t-shirt features a drawing by the artist of Hello Kitty and the Eiffel tower on the front. On the back it features “Obama 08″.

We’ve been inundated with Obama related product and design over the course of the campaign. With the election on the horizon, we can expect the flurry to end in the next two weeks. We may also suggest that the best is yet to come. Gabriel Urist, the New York based jeweler, certainly resides in the top class. His Obama pendent doesn’t fall into pop culture reference trap. He simply takes the core campaign material and creates something simple and beautiful. Bravo.
