Tomorrow, May 5, 2011, Vans will open their first-ever partner store inside of Montreal’s Off The Hook boutique. In addition to offering nearly the entire Vans range – from Vault, California, OTW, Girls, Surf and even Kids – the shop also includes the option to create and order custom Vans shoes in-store, an initiative previously only available to US-based online customers.

On the architecture side, Vans and OTH outfitted every inch of space with a custom wood, metal, brick (and a bit of carpet) build-out. The outside of the shop also currently sports a two-story high QR code corresponding with the opening.

Steve Van Doren, son of Vans co-founder Paul Van Doren, and legendary Dogtown skater Tony Alva made their way down for the opening event that took place this evening in Montreal. Be sure to stop by this now-permanent shop next time you are in town.

Not only will the shop feature the best Vans selection in Canada, but the launch marks the beginning of a global initiative that will include New York and Paris. Above is a teaser video. In an interesting project DC Shoes has joined forces with Bruxe for a capsule collection, entitled “Dead Rat Pack”.

” This collection was to be aimed at a contemporary customer as is most of the Life collection. After lots of back and forth with the accessories and DC Life team and a couple rounds of story boarding, we settled on a backpack, a small courier bag, a baseball cap, a driving cap and a cycling jacket. We decided on a heavy waxed canvas mixed with a rich pebble leather for the bags, making them some of the most durable bags we have made to date.”

The collaborative capsule collection is hitting DC Life accounts right now. Since Bruxe is from Canada, they wanted to do something special for the launch over there and got together with Off The Hook. They designed a special fixed gear bike, matching the collection, with the store. The bike is being given away at the launch event of the DC LiFE x Bruxe Dead Rat Pack Capsule Collection at Off The Hook on November 25th.

Alphanumeric joined forces with Canada’s Off The Hook to launch a pop-up store for the back to school period. The pop-up shop has been nicely transformed and has been given the Alphanumeric education theme. Also it carries already the Fall 2008collection by the brand. The good people at OFF THE HOOK in Montreal are presenting a POP-UP SHOP featuring MARC ECKO CUT & SEW and STAR WARS official collaboration collection entitled EPISODE. The entire line of specialized t-shirts, hoodies and jackets will be available at the POP-UP SHOP for the whole month of DECEMBER, starting Saturday the 1st and ending on Monday the 31st.
