Celebrating the 20 year career of the legendary skater, Vans re-issues four of Ray Barbee’s favorite shoes. Each shoe has been reproduced with period correct artwork, construction, materials, color and packaging. The release consists of the Era ‘87, Chukka ‘95 and two colorways in the Old Skool ‘92. Available now at Proper.

Japan’s Ollie Magazine gets together with Vans on the MAD Ollie Old Skool. The sneaker commemorates this year’s MAD Ollie music festival. It comes in a classic black suede upper with checkered mid-sole and further details on the in-sole and tongue. The sneaker is now available at Vans Japan dealers.

The HUF Dirtbag Crew applied their design expertise to a pair of Vans Old Skools. Featuring a mix of leather, suede and canvas the sneakers are adorned with several prominent HUF logos alongside triangular prints across the midsole. The shoes come in three tonal colorways: blue, black and red. Expect HUF to do numbers like Sudoku when these hit on October 17th, 2009. Only at HUF flagship stores.

Supreme will be releasing two new styles of Vans – the Half Cab and the Old Skool. The Half Cab will feature suede/canvas uppers with leather insoles and the Old Skool will feature suede uppers with leather insoles. Both sneakers come in three colorways and feature mini checker uppers.

These Vans will be released in-store and online on October 8th. Japan will release them on October 10th.

Vans Vault worked for Fall 2009 once again extensively with artist Rick Griffin. Aside from the Slip-On that we already presented, they also worked on the Sk8 Hi, Old Skool and Mid Skool. All three sneakers come with a black base in different kinds of leather and canvas and feature lots of custom artwork, graphics and customization. The customization happens on the upper, sole, as well as the lining, making the pack certainly stand out. Furthermore the packaging is also designed by the artist. The pack is now available at Flauge.

White Mountaineering has been one of our favorite Japanese brands of late, and their latest footwear is no exception. Taking clear inspiration from the Vans Old Skool silhouette, the White Mountaineering Standard sneaker comes in either black and white or black on black with a tonal camouflage printed upper. The oversized foxing stripe on the midsole make these a nice alternative to Vans for this summer, though the price of ¥18,900 (approx. $193 USD) may nullify that argument for most. Available now at Figure Shizuoka through Star-J.

Following up on the Eras and Slip-Ons seen earlier, we now have a look at the Mid Skools and Old Skools from Vans’ Fall 2009 Off The Wall Pack. Once again, the shoes are presented in their original colorways from 1977, which seem as relevant today as ever.

Some more previews are coming from the Vans Vault Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The Wool Pack offers a series of Vans classics in updated premium leather/wool versions. The pack consists of the Sk8 Hi, Slip-On, Old Skool and Chukka Boot.

A nice and solid pack comes from the Vans Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. The brown/mint color mix works very well and is solid, yet not boring at all – the perfect everyday colorway for the summer. The pack consists of several Vans classics and is now available in stores.

As part of their Fall 2009 collection, Vans Vault got together with Rick Griffin. The artist, known for his poster, rock and psychadelic art, designed an entire capsule footwear collection consisting of the Sk8 Hi Lx, Mid Skool ‘77 Lx, Old Skool ‘77 Lx and the Classic Slip-On. Especially the Sk8 Hi and the Mid Skool are very impressive, both featuring extensive details on all parts of the sneakers, as you can see on the image here above.

The pack will be released to premium retailers on June 1rst.
