Burton has unveiled the official uniform for the U.S. Snowboarding Team at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics – and it’s denim and plaid!

“The inspiration behind the U.S. Snowboarding Team outerwear for the 2010 Olympics is classic Americana,” says Greg Dacyshyn, Senior Vice President of Creative at Burton. “Although we are creating a uniform, our first objective is to express the individuality of snowboarding.  As such, we are taking vintage American looks and interpreting them in a very unique and unexpected fashion. Finally, we will ensure that all of the highest technical attributes are maintained in the pieces, so that performance and function are not jeopardized.  The result will be a progressive and fresh look that challenges the former conservatism of the Olympics.”

Burton builds on its long-standing relationship with W. L. Gore & Associates by partnering with the company and leveraging the performance benefits of GORE-TEX® fabric, the official fabric of the 2010 U.S. Snowboarding Team’s Olympic outerwear.

Chicago’s St. Alfred presents a range of goods for the occasion of the Beijing Olympics. Their BMX Olympics collection consists of t-shirts, as well as matching 5-panel caps. The t-shirts come in two colorways and the caps in overall four.
Furthermore they also present an Olympic themed t-shirt, featuring on the front the slogan "Sportsman Like Conduct" in the Olympic colors. Info via Ian Ginoza.

Blends sister store BTNC (Beatnic) is releasing this pack of New Era fitted caps on July 30th. They are made to represent the gold, silver, and bronze medals for the Olympics. This is the second new era for btnc with the first one being a gucci inspired hat released last year that sold out in minutes.

After this Nike Dunk Hi recently came out in a dark blue colorway it s now coming in black. The upper is made of leather and suede with an embossed "8 Pattern" on the side panels, once again celebrating the Beijing Olympics starting on the 8th of August this year. The all white mid-sole is a nice contrast and makes a clean look.

The addition of a new sport to the summer Olympic line up is always exciting. In 2004, women’s wrestling gained the support of the IOC. 2008, we see the inclusion of BMX. While the new sport of 2004 was great for the Title 9 set, BMX is another step in mainstreaming fringe sports and incorporating the "extreme" with the long standing traditional activities practiced by the Greeks. 
To celebrate BMX’s move into the games, Nike 6.0 Celebrated in Bejing last week with The Lightening Bolts Art Show and BMX exhibition. Nike team riders, along with BMX legends Eddie Fiola and Brian Blyther, hit the custom built ramps. In addition, contemporary artists shared their vision and passion for the sport Among them was Michael Lau, who remembered the importance of BMX in his own childhood.
Nike also honored Bob Haro, recreating his famous number plate as an artists canvas.

Yesterday we showed you first detailed images of the Nike Dunk Hi Seamless Polka Dot. Thanks to Antenna Magazine we can now show you images of the entire pack, which consists of 5 colorways. These are coming outlater this year as part of the NikeSportswear Fall ‘08 collection.

Stussy also got together with Hong Kongs Milk Magazine to work on some t-shirts commemorating the Beijing Olympics. The t-shirt is available now in two colorways at Stussy Direct.

Comme des Garcons continues to work with Speedo to create new collection also for this Spring/Summer season.
“Six months before the Summer Olympic Games, Speedo will unveil its fastest swimsuit ever today, Fastskin LZR Racer, with a design twist.

The swimwear brand has collaborated with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons to create a limited edition version of the FS LZR Racer, which uses a fully bonded fabric that Speedo executives describe as so close-fitting it’s almost a second skin.

Kawakubo, who for the last three years has collaborated with Speedo on a capsule collection of nonelite swimwear, created a logo that will be printed along one side of the suit, which incorporates the Japanese character Kokuro, or “heart, mind and spirit,” by the calligrapher Inoue Yu-ichi. The designer also has created another graphic element for a special version of the suit for Team USA that will make its debut at the Olympics in Beijing.” Via WWD.

Here you see one of the latest Adidas Superstar releases. We are in the year of the Beijing Olympics, matching that theme they released this sneaker. It comes in white and features an Olympics pattern over the stripes and the heel!

With the Beijing Olympics just around the corner, Nike China has decided to honor Chinese athletes that have won medals in the past with a sneaker pack. These shoes will be limited to Chinese Nike retailers and will be available in the upcoming months. The pack features an Air Max 1, Dunk Trainer High, Vintage Cortez, Court Force Mid, and Legend Low.
