Fresh for Spring 2012, nanamica drops their GORE-TEX Cruiser Jacket in this vivid yellow. nanamica notes the “electrifying vividness” of the color, which we won’t argue. The jacket has a deck feel with its fasteners and overall look, and given its high quality construction, we are sure it will keep you dry whether at sea, or during a flash spring rain. Although still relatively new and hard to come by, Italian label Ten C has certainly established themselves as one of the best outerwear makers around today. We’ve seen some of their goods at what we believe is the only US carrier of the brand, Union Los Angeles, and were immediately impressed. Anyway, with Pitti Uomo going on, our brothers at Selectism had a chance to check out Ten C’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. From what we see here, new styles and colors have made their way into the range.

White Mountaineering has a knack for combining a distinct level of sophistication coupled with true performance functionality. Their outerwear pieces shine with each seasonal release, as further illustrated here. The two jackets shown here are both solid winter options both waterproof, windproof and laced with a GORE-TEX performance shell. The vest is comprised of of a wind-resistant Pertex Shield that is also quick drying. Each piece is a very viable option for this Winter, but that hooded Boa jacket is looking especially enticing. The North Face’s Japan operation continues on its winning ways, this time around here with this Bespoke Down Shirt done in collaboration with Nano Universe. This Harris tweed, down-filled number looks to be a great piece on those nights not cold enough to go parka status.

There’s been a real influx of down filled shirt releases over the last week or so, which is no surprise given the time of year, but this one from DQM and Crescent Down Works is probably one of the nicer ones available at the moment. Available in green and blue, these down shirts have some nice details such as contrasting colored lining and a custom denim shirt collar. These classic looking down shirts will be available through DQM on November 17th.

The presentation by Tres Bien of these recent Crescent Down Works releases is on point. A nice range of pieces from the outerwear specialists is showcased here including down filled parkas, vests and shirts. Each piece is done justice by Tres Bien’s well done imagery. If you have not stocked up on winter wear, these look like some good options.

Union Los Angeles has had a penchant for taking chances on high quality brands that are under the radar and one of those in particular is the Italian brand Ten C. Here are a few pieces from this season’s “The Emperor’s New Clothes” collection including the Dress Jacket, Snow Smock, Peacoat and Anorak. Every piece is comprised of the same fabric, which is a breathable, water-proof knit nylon, and they come in 2 colors (excluding the peacoat). Each piece is highly functional, very sophisticated and just as importantly, available now.

I saw this PFD Corduroy Gortex jacket back at the Visvim trunk show hosted by Union earlier this year and it has haunted my memory ever since. Unfortunately, this 3-layer gem carries a pretty high price tag, but it is still something to marvel at on the aesthetics tip.

This season the PFD was made from an Italian thin whaled corduroy with denim contrast accents on the back of the collar and under the sleeves. It’s a 3 layer custom gore-tex. Raglan sleeves and stowable hood in the collar. Zip and button front closure.

Japan’s Swagger highlights their Fall/Winter 2011 outerwear program with a set of sometimes psychedelic Mountain Parkas. We’re all for the de-beigeification of fashion and these work well to toss aside any ‘Heritage’ feelings associated with the ‘mountain parka’ cut. All-black is still an option, of course.

This week, we’re able to show you a selection of apparel within the adidas Originals collaboration with Burton, designed by Kazuki Kuraishi, who was previously the mastermind behind the adidas Originals by Originals kzk range. The jacket and vest both combine adidas and Burton DNA with Kazuki’s distinctly Japanese aesthetic. Look for a release shortly.
