Today we already presented the new Lumix DMC-G1X by Panasonic. The Japanese brand has announced something else today, the Lumix 3D1.

The digital camera employs two newly-developed lens units with folded optics design in a compact body and can capture crisp and clear 3D and 2D photos and videos. The LUMIX 3D1, with a twin-lens design, features 25mm ultra-wide angle lenses with 4x optical zoom that offer the outstanding capability to record high resolution 8-megapixel 3D photo and 1920×1080 60i high quality 3D HD video using side-by-side method. The LUMIX 3D1’s optics give users a wider range of composition possibilities with approximately 169% larger viewing space compared to that of 35mm cameras.

The 12 megapixel camera comes with a 3.5 inch touchscreen and releases December 2011 for about 500 USD.

After a teaser video had surfaced over the weekend, we can give you a detailed look at the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 camera today.

“The new LUMIX GX1 features a 16.01-megapixel Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine, helping to ensure real-to-life images through excellent resolution, image rendering and color reproduction. Even in low-light situations and at maximum 12800 high ISO sensitivity, the LUMIX GX1 can produce stunning photos and videos, and because of its compact size it can be easily carried for daily use. The LUMIX GX1, like all the models in Panasonic’s LUMIX G Series of CSC, adopts Contrast AF for its focus system, so focusing is controlled by the image sensor. The LUMIX GX1 features an ultra high-speed Light Speed AF*, which means it can Auto Focus in approximately 0.09 second. This is achieved by reducing the detection time for focusing by the synchronizing the lens and sensor at 120 fps.

The touch-control system of the LUMIX GX1 lets users set the focus on the subject by simply touching it on the large, 460,000-dot wide-viewing angle LCD. Users can even release the shutter by touching the screen. The LUMIX GX1 can record 1920 x 1080 at 60i, with sensor output of 30p, full-High Definition videos in the AVCHD format which excels in both compression efficiency and compatibility with AV equipment for playback. In addition to the practical full-time AF, the Touch AF in video recording also lets users enjoy professional-like rack focusing.”

This all does not sound too bad for sure. The GX1 should be releasing very soon in several colorways.

In the last couple of days first images leaked of the upcoming micro four thirds Panasonic Lumix GX1 camera. A promotional video of the camera surfaced, highlighting not only its new design, but also giving us a look at the functionality that it comes with. Panasonic continues to be one of the fore runners in the semi professional photography market with their Micro 4/3 division and the GX1 seems to be a worthy continuation.
The Panasonic Lumix range has been a favorite of ours for many years, next to the Ricoh line-up and of course the offering of Leica. With the GF1, Panasonic once again introduces an interesting new camera that you should have a closer look at. Just like with former G-series models, also the lenses of the GF1 can be exchanged, probably one of the most interesting features of this very compact camera.

“Though small in size, the LUMIX GF1 does not compromise in advanced features. The LUMIX GF1 thoroughly optimizes the advantages of a system camera to ensure high performance, whether capturing photos or HD video. The LUMIX GF1 also comes fully-equipped with a built-in flash and a large, 3.0-inch Intelligent LCD with a wide viewing angle and a 460,000-dot resolution.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1 will be available in early October 2009 with the option of two kits – both with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $899.95. One kit option includes the newly-announced LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH, a compact and lightweight “pancake” lens, while the other kit features the LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. The optional Live View Finder DMW-LVF1 has an SRP of $199.95; while the DMW-MA2M and DMW-MA3R both have an SRP of $249.95.”

The camera will come in a series of colorways from October 2009.

The Panasonic Lumix range has been interesting since its inception, bringing high quality Leica lenses into the mass market and thus making a quality camera more affordable. Their latest model to release is the DMC G-1, which is the first larger size camera to come from them, bringing the functionality of a big reflex camera, the G-1 gives you the choice between the two at all times. Also it is very light and still compact.

Now, what does this have to do with Busy “P”? Well, we were asking ourselves the same question. The DJ and producer took the G-1 to the Justice tour and the 200 pictures that he took are preloaded on each camera! It is now available for 850 Euros at colette.

More detailed images of the Panasonic DMC G-1 Lumix follow after the jump.

These days its hard to imagine living without a digital camera. Everybody always seems to have one around and that is most of the time a good thing.
We have always been fans of quality digital cameras with a bit of a retro look, lots of options, but when needed the camera can do it all by itself. In that category are most notably the Panasonic Lumix range, Ricoh, Canon G-Series and a couple of others. We want it compact, but full of options and all these cameras offer that.
Now Panasonic just released their new DMC-LX3K. From the look we definitely like it, especially the added grip that the LX2 did not have. The Leica technology also does not disappoint and the camera comes with the a 24mm wide-angle – perfect. Off of the sheet it all sounds good. We have not tested it, but it is worth checking out, if you are looking for a new digital camera.
