Wow, that is all we can say at this point. We knew that artist JR can mobilize a crowd, but we can certainly not remember the last time a gallery opening with such a bag. We previewed the ‘Encourages’ Exhibition by the artist at Galerie Perrotin last week and also showed you the massive wall artwork on the outside of the gallery.

On November 19th, the exhibition opened with a huge crowd and a live set by Massive Attack. Not only was the entire courtyard of the gallery packed, people from the buildings around the gallery also enjoyed the music and scene.

Last week we gave you a preview of the exclusive t-shirts to release this weekend at the Cool Cats weekend bash in Paris. The party started on June 5th and goes on today with Busy P, So-Me, DSL, Mister Moonlight, Mr Flash and others spinning for the crowds. Yesterday, we showed you the Tom Sachs x Hello Kitty Obama t-shirt. Today, showing there is more than just political stumping to the collaboration, we’ve got some images of the Tom Sachs’ crying Kitty’s from their new Paris home. These are installed at the base of the Eiffel Tower temporarily, in conjunction with Sachs’ show at Galerie Thaddaeos Ropac.

Recently Paris saw a very interesting new store opening its doors – Pigalle. Created by Mr. Ashpool and PainOchoKolat, a great new boutique has been added to the already fantastic shopping experience in Paris. It is always great seeing people even in such big cities, that already seem to have everything, open stores that surprise and impress.

Pigalle carries an interesting mix of brands that include Dr. Romanelli, Rick Owens, Huf, Wood Wood, Swagger, Phenomenon, Nike, Adidas, Pigalle sweaters and t-shirts, North Face, Winfield and many more. Also they are constantly sourcing vintage pieces of well respected high end designers.

Just like Bape, Original Fake and BBC/Ice Cream, Alife also got their very own space in the newly renovated Colette store. For the occasion they created a limited edition “Paris” t-shirt. The t-shirt features on one side the Alife logo print and on the other side in the very same font “Paris”.

Expect it to be available soon.

Colette is bringing another exciting exhibition to Paris this Fall. "Off Off Bowery" is an art exhibition curated by Aaron Bondaroff and Jen Brill. They brought together an exciting mix of artists out of different genres and put together the Off Off Bowery show.

It will run at Colette from September 29th until November 1rst. Another reason to drop by Paris.
