Today we passed by the Parra exhibition at Pool Gallery in Berlin. For almost 4 months Parra has been preparing for the show, creating lots of new original pieces. Highlights in the show mark his new black/white series of prints, which come in editions of only 9 pieces. Our personal favorite is his new mid-size sculpture, which comes in his signature colors and in an edition of 20. Otherwise the exhibition showcases many outstanding paintings by the Dutch artist. We can only recommend a visit.

From August 29th Wood Wood Berlin will also be hosting a Parra pop-up store, where you will be able to purchase a special t-shirt that was released only for this event, along with lots of other Parra items.

After several previews, we give you a detailed look today at the Nike Sportswear x Parra Air Maxim. The interplay of a solid and innovative running shoe with the art of Dutch artist Parra work really well in this case. The Air Maxim comes in all black with a speckled mid-sole, two-tone stitching and laces, as well as several graphic elemtents by the artist. Special graphics appear on the tongue tag and on the inner sole. The Firefly technology makes the sneaker light, yet very robust and durable. Look out for a release later this year.

Dutch artist Parra has worked again with Nike, this time with Nike Sportswear Japan, on the decoration of the Future Laforet department store in Harajuku, Tokyo. Several graphics of the artist are on display outside the store, showcasing the upcoming Nike Sportswear Aero Flight Hi and Aerofit Hi.

Adfunture is currently presenting their upcoming collaboration with Dutch artist Parra at Taipei Toy Festival. “The Prostitute” brings to life one of his characters into a 3D world. The toy was produced by adFunture and is coming out Fall 2009.

World famous street artist Parra will be opening both a pop-up shop and exhibition this August in Berlin. The pop-up shop will be hosted at Wood Wood and offer products of art by Parra, while the Pool Gallery presents works of art by Parra. Events open on August 29tha nd August 27th respectively. Converse is hosting together with Lodown Magazine a BBQ event in Berlin tomorrow night. For the occasion they produced a Parra designed Chuck Taylor Hi, in line with the “Simply the Wurst” theme of the event. The Chuck Taylor Hi is limited to only 100 pairs and will be given out to friends and family.

Most of you should know that Vans has just released the “Off The Wall” book. For the occasion they are hosting a friendly competition for the best “Off The Wall” logo. Some great artists participated, including Taka Hayashi, Eric Elms, Parra, Steve Caballero, Dennis McNett, Geoff Rowley, Michael Sieben and many more. Matching the Nike x Parra Air Max 1 that will be released later this year, the sneaker brand and Dutch artist also worked on a varsity jacket. The jacket comes in a bordeaux colorway and features patches and embroideries designed by the artist. The jacket will go for 260 Euros and come out towards the end of 2009.

After giving you a more detailed look at the Parra x Vans Era earlier today, we show you the complete pack now. The pack consists of the Era, Sk8 Hi and the Chukka, all three coming in great summer colorways and of course featuring graphics by the Dutch artist.
