As we get closer to the release of the next collaboration between Patta and Asics, we sat down with Gee from Patta to get a bit more background information on the project. It is not the first team-up of the two, and the Amsterdam store is known for very strong shoe collaborations, especially with Asics. As many of you might remember, their Asics Gel Lyte 3 was probably the shoe to put the Asics brand back on the map in the sneakerhead market.

Therefore, as usual, the Patta crew set the bar high and presents an extremely well executed Asics GEL Saga as part of this latest collaboration. Limited to 400 pairs, the shoe will go on sale on December 22nd, 2011, at Patta and select retailers.

After our initial teaser preview, we get a better look at the upcoming collaboration between Patta and Asics on the GEL Saga. The sneaker landed on the cover of the latest issue of Sneaker Freaker magazine and well deserved. Next to rubberized leather, perforated leather and suede and other great details, the cover also reveals the pony hair panels that the Amsterdam store placed on the sneaker. All in all a fantastic color combination and probably not for the first time, one of the strongest Asics to come out this year. More information on the release and a further look at the sneaker will follow here soon.

Asics and Amsterdam’s Patta boutique continue their fruitful relationship with a third collaboration. Patta has been a key partner in reintroducing the GEL-Lyte III and GEL Lyte Speed styles, and this forthcoming release sees the two parties reworking the GEL Saga. The preview images show applied materials such as rubberized leather, perforated nubuck and ponyhair. The ASICS x Patta GEL Saga is set to release next month. Stay tuned to Highsnobiety for more details, as we get closer to the drop.

Patta is proud to announce the launch of their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. The first drop of this second season collection consists of a melton wool/leather sleeve varsity jacket, a wool knit pullover, a graphic crewneck sweater, various graphic and logo t-shirts and cotton socks. The collection will be available in store at Patta November 12th as well as online at patta.nl and at selected Patta retailers worldwide on November 19th. The second drop is scheduled for launch early December.

Patta continues to display a level of consistency throughout all of their special projects. This time around, the Amsterdam-based retailer creates this PxK Hiking Collection in partnership with KangaROOS. Patta dipped into the their archives and pulled out two hiking styles, the K2 and Woodhollow models, and reworked them with the application of CORDURA® Nylon fabrics and premium leathers. Both look really nice and if you are not completely sold, the Woodhollow comes with a double branded Victorinox Swiss Army Pocket Knife. The worldwide release date is November 12the at selected retailers including: Avenue, Brothers & Sisters, Colette, CNCPTS, Footpatrol, Hanon, Norse Store, Overkill, Pigalle and Sneakersnstuff.

This Fall/Winter 2011 season, the Patta and KangaROOS co-branded collection makes its debut. When we first heard about it, we were rather skeptical, we have to admit. While we always do trust the judgement of Patta, we cannot say that we stand behind much of the current KangaROOS revival. When looking through the collections recently, we come across a mix of classics and interpretations of whatever is hot in the market at the moment, which did not seem true to the brand, nor appealing in terms of quality or style.

Not paying too much attention to the heritage of the brand, Patta presents this season the K2 and Woodhollow boots. While integrating trademark KangaROOS features, such as the pocket, Patta managed to build two premium boots, featuring quality leathers and Cordura nylon on the upper in solid colors. The outcome are two modern outdoor boots in classic colors, yet with some nice color accents. They managed the unexpected and the result we certainly find appealing. To further add to the message of the pack, Patta produced a Victorinox Swiss Army Pocket Knife to come along with each boot.

Patta and KangaROOS have a 3 year contract – let’s see what else this partnership will come up with. We are not sure it will make KangaROOS a more appealing brand again by itself, but we are 100% sure that Patta will be selling out these boots in no time.

Patta has partnered with Chinese sporting shoe brand Warrior Footwear and German writing instruments company Staedtler to present a mini collection for back-to-school season.

The plimsoll Club model comes in 3 basic colors: red, blue and black. All three feature canvas uppers atop a white midsole, pen-scratched by hand with Staedtler permanent markers and waterproof coated. The woven side tag carries Amsterdam’s signature triple X and Patta branding can be found on the sockliner and on the midsole tab. Each pair comes in custom packaging, and includes a set of Staedtler stationery containing a corresponding Lumocolor 318 Permanent marker, Mars Lumograph HB pencil, Mars Plastic slide sleeve eraser and a mini writing pad. A set of matching Patta Script logo t-shirts (sold seperately) have been produced to complete the set.

The Patta x Warrior x Staedtler mini collection goes on sale on Saturday July 30th and will be available in store at Patta and at warriorfootwear.com.

Patta and longtime collaborator Kangol once again engage in a special headwear project for Spring/Summer 2011, introducing the “Summer of Love” collection. This endeavor utilizes a staple in the range for decades and delivers a set of Kangol’s famed bell shaped Bermuda Casual hats, the original classic sported from the streets to the beach.

The Patta x Kangol Bermuda Casual hats are knitted in Kangol’s proprietary bouclé yarn, treated with special processes before they are blocked. This gives the hat a soft and rich hand-feel for extra wearing comfort. The hats will be available in 3 colors: black, red and beige, all with contrasting top buttons and embroidered Kangol and Patta logos.

The hats will be available May 14th at Patta and selected Kangol premium stockists worldwide.

Amsterdam store Patta presents their new Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Going beyond just t-shirts this season, the new line offers sweaters, jackets, as well as a series of simple, yet bold statement caps. Patta will release the collection on May 7th, with the following other stores also receiving it: 24 Kitaltes (Barcelona), Pigalle (Paris), Hideout (London), Hanon (Aberdeen), Concepts (Boston), from May 14th.

Amsterdam store Patta (storeguide) and Rotterdam sneaker store Woei have teamed up on a small capsule collection for Summer 2011. The line includes two t-shirts and two snapback caps, all featuring graphics created by Parra and Vinz. The collection will release today, April 16th, at both stores.

The sweatshirts are fabricated by Canada-based CYC/Reigning Champ and feature the superior quality and details the company is known for.
