Jamieson’s has been a family owned business for five generations and specializes in producing and spinning wool from the sheep on Scotland’s remote Shetland Islands.

A special collaboration between Penfield and Jamiesons’s, the two brands have worked on the Gillman Jacket and the Gillman Vest, both incorporating Jamieson’s Shetland wool in an exclusive limited edition.

Both the yoke and hand-warmer pockets are constructed in Fair Isle patterned wool, contrasting the tough 60/40 Cotton Nylon outer. Additional insulation is provided by the premium 80/20 down while hardwearing copper snaps keep the front sealed against the elements. Leather trimmed piped cuffs give a tough finish and protect from wear and tear.

The jacket and vest are available for men and women now in the Penfield USA online store.

On the heels of STPL’s Fall 2011 collection revealing, Reed Space showcases their 2011 collaborative jacket with Penfield. This jacket has some nice details infused such as a water-resistant nylon outer, premium leather hits, silver zipper and snaps, and a nice eye-catching red lining inspired by the Craftsman Toolbox. On Thursday, November 17, 2011, Penfield will launch an online competition revolving around one of their original styles: the Summit down jacket.

Entitled ‘Race for the Summit’ the initiate invites web users to embark on an online quest in search for the answers to ten clues – the first of which will be revealed through Penfield’s website. The clues will lead participants on an online trail around a selection of influential blogs and websites… Once the answer has been found, the participant enters it via the competition page within their penfieldusa.com account and, if correct, the next clue is revealed. Two clues are released each week culminating in the final clue to be given out on December 15th, 2011.

The winners will be announced on December 20th, 2011 with a very special first prize of a one-off, custom-made ‘Race for the Summit’ premium down insulated parka (as seen above.) In addition, 3 classic Summit down insulated parkas, 5 Outback down insulated vests and 20 Sanford beanies from Penfield’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection are available to runners-up. Have fun..

Not new to each other, Stussy and Penfield teamed up for another round of outerwear for Holiday 2011. This season they present the Landis Jacket and the Outback Vest. The Landis jacket is a warm down coat with duffle coat design elements. It comes in grey, black and navy, featuring a striped lining. The Outback Vest comes in the same colorways and takes a very clean and classic approach, also featuring a striped lining. Both pieces will release November 12th, 2011.

After a first preview, we can give you a full look today at the collaboration between Sperry Top-Sider and Penfield. The outdoor brand worked on overall 4 shoes with Sperry for Fall/Winter 2011, translating some iconic silhouettes of the brand into their world.

The capsule footwear collection consists of a camouflage Penny Loafer, a classic leather/corduroy boat shoe, the low top Seamate sneaker and the Authentic 7-eye boot. The Seamate and Authentic 7-eye feature mixed leather and herringbone wool uppers. Branding is placed on the tongues of the low tops and blue Penfield tags have also been added to all shoes of the collaboration. Look out for a release in the coming weeks.

Penfield’s new lookbook “From Rockport to Cambridge” takes you through a typical early Winter day in the picturesque state of Massachusetts. Today we take a first look at the upcoming outerwear selection from Penfield. As usual the brand offers a nice range of classic inspired jackets in a series of colors and all that at good prices.
