With days getting shorter and colder, Penfield offers another chance to get the best of fashion, function, practicality and durability for this winter. In this respect, they have released a brand new navy version of the classic Stapleton down jacket in a limited run of 50 pieces. The vintage-inspired jacket features a brown leather shoulder yoke and contrast yellow lining, and is now available exclusively through Penfield’s US online store.

Penfield paired up with Shibuya-based boutique nano・universe on a very limited series of vests and jackets. The capsule collaboration includes a classic black/red plaid version and a tartan pattern version of the classic Outback down insulated vest (seen previously here), Kasson cotton nylon parka and Mackinaw Thermore® insulated lightweight jacket. All styles are available now in Tartan or Buffalo Plaid at select nano・universe dealers across Japan.

Penfield worked with Italian label Limoland on a limited release Kasson. The classic 60/40 parka is offered in a heavyweight, water resistant wool blend with a tartan plaid lining. Details such as contrasting color cuff straps and pocket flap lining exemplify Limoland’s typical “color pop” aesthetic. Comes in navy with red plaid or orange with green plaid and is now available at Hanon.

In addition to their stellar collaborations with Reed Space, Edifice and Limoland, the Massachusetts-established label also worked with rag & bone on a 3-piece capsule of down outerwear. The highlight is definitely the hooded wool/leather sleeved joint, but the western yoked jacket and vest are nothing to shake a stick at either. We love Penfield’s ability to keep us warm with such stylish attention to detail, and that’s what it’s all about these days isn’t it? Penfield gets together with Japanese retailer nano universe to collaborate on two down vests. They offer a classic black/red plaid version and a tartan pattern version of the classic piece of outerwear. Look out for a release soon.

Selectism scooped us on this banger from Penfield and Edifice. The limited release celebrates Edifice’s 15th anniversary and comes in the form of an 80/20 goose down vest. It contains goose down insulation, 100% leather shoulder yoke, internal buffalo plaid lining and two exterior hand warmer pockets. Available in four colorways – black, grey, grey/blue plaid and grey/red plaid. Now available on the Japanese market.

After an initial preview during Bread & Butter in January, we finally get a nice and detailed look at the upcoming Penfield x The Reed Space Rockford Jacket. It comes with black goat skin leather details on the shoulders and pockets, an emergency orange lining, leather Reed Space arm patch and some silkscreen details on the lining. The jacket is now available at The Reed Space and other fine retailers.

Penfield has released their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Some great classic silhouettes from the early 1970s and 1980s, such as the Rockford down insulated jacket and Kasson parka are updated with shiny aspect ripstop, melton fabric (pictured above) and waxy textures. Vintage inspired details are seen throughout the collection, with the Appalachian Trail and outdoor tradition being main inspirations. Navajo blanket fabric is seen on pockets and hoods, as well as on day packs and satchels. Plaid, leather and mini cord shoulder yokes are visible within the down insulated outerwear category. We get a first look at two stand-out pieces from the upcoming Penfield Fall/Winter 2009-2010 Collection. The outerwear brand has made a strong return these past years and continues to dive into new territory. Here we show you the Anoka and the Peacoat from the new collection, both looking casual, yet with some nice features. Compared to previous in-line pieces, these two jackets are a little more dressy.

Italian brand Limoland has been known since its very inception for high profile collaborations. In recent years we have seen the work with Porter, Wild Life and many other brands. Today we give you a look at their Fall/Winter 2009 collaborations with New Era and Penfield.

Together with New Era they created a line-up of 4 fitted caps, with most of them featuring the comic head logo of the brand. With Penfield they of course worked on a jacket. The parka jacket comes in several colorways and features contrasting linings, as well as a Limoland logo tag on the sleeve.
