Artist and über-producer Pharrell Williams took to the stage at MidemNet two days ago, for an interview conducted by Cornerstone co-CEO Rob Stone. The topics: how artists can engage their fans in the digital era, and the potential of musicians and brands joining forces.

Pharrell Williams talks art with T Magazine for their “Something Big Something Small” video series. “Inspired by military tanks, Williams created an impressive collection of chairs for Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, which invited the 35-year-old polyhyphenate to bring his ideas to life. Williams has also created Artst Guild and Gallery, a Web platform that democratizes art and invites young minds to create, upload and share work. Simply put, it’s a place for creative individuals to gather online with no agenda other than meeting.” Looks like Pharrell’s already got his Louboutins!

For the second time already we see Pharrell Williams getting into furniture design – this time he presents the Tank Chair. The Tank Chair comes in overall 4 colorways and is made of plexiglas and full grain colt leather. The chair will be on display at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin next week during Art Basel Miami.

In an interesting collaboration Pharrell Williams has once again worked with designer duo Domeau & Peres, with whom he has already worked on a series of chair sculptures. This time Pharrell also involved Brooklyn Machine Works and together they created a high end fixed gear bike. The bike comes in all yellow and features multiple premium leather applications. The bike is on display at the W Lounge, a special space announcing the upcoming W Hotel Paris. The bike comes in an edition of only 1.

We reported on Yi Zhou’s latest short film The Ear back in August. Today, we are able to present the movie itself. The film was inspired by Gogol’s short story The Nose from the Petersburg tales and is based on the absurd story of the loss of an ear.

“The ear is actually the key element of the film, shot in RED and partly made in 3d animation. Throughout the film, the ear and inner ear as a whole turn themselves into an EarBrige as they get crossed by a bridge. The EarBridge is part of a public project proposal for Baku, Azerbaijan that includes a number of important international contemporary artists.”

As mentioned previously, the film features Pharrell Williams alongside music by Ennio Morricone and costumes by Rick Owens and BBC/Ice Cream. Very strange, but worth a watch.

GAP is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a London pop-up store. The store’s decoration is inspired by the 60’s, featuring rainbow colors and lots of limited edition product for the occasion. Pharrell Williams produced a subtle capsule collection for the store, consisting of hoodies, t-shirs, bags and sneakers.

Chinese artist Yi Zhou has produced a short artistic movie entitled “Around the Earbridge”. Starring Pharrell Williams and featuring costumes by Rick Owens and BBC/Ice Cream, the movie was produced for the plublic design program taking place in Baku Azebajan 2013, which also includes works by Jean Nouvel and other high profile creatives. It is interesting seeing Pharrell continue to work in the art world, after only recently unveiling his collaborative sculpture with Takashi Murakami.

Fans of Clipse since their debut album, we’re happy to see Malice and Pusha T reunited with Pharrell and The Neptunes. A video for “I’m Good,” the lead single off the forthcoming album Till The Casket Drops dropped earlier today on MySpace, but for those outside of the US, we’ve finally got an international version on our hands. Check out the boys chilling on rooftops in expensive sunglasses, driving around in black cars and partying with models. Good times.
