New York’s Mishka offer a preview into some forthcoming jackets. For Holiday 2009, the label explores some very classic territory with The Paddington Cloaked Duffle Coat and the Malamute Snorkel Jacket. Both feature light padding with wool outershells and come in classic black and brown shades.

On the more flashy side, Mishka worked with Japan’s Phenonemon on a Leather Keep Watch Coaches Jacket. This jacket features a chenille tonal applique on the back with a full color Phenomenon Arm-Loop pattern lining and will be available from select vendors including 350 Broadway and the Mishka web store.

After some research, we actually managed to track down some first images of the Cassette Playa x Phenomenon Capsule Collection that will be released soon. The two brands worked on t-shirts, as well as some cut-and-sew pieces, including a reversible down jacket. When you hear Cassette Playa and Phenomenon working together, you know that it will turn out colorful and different from pretty much everything else out there, as they are both not exactly shy brands. Here above you already see Carrie Munden and Big-O rocking the collaborative apparel.

Even though many pieces from Japanese brand Phenomenon are a little extreme for our personal taste, we appreciate when they experimental. Usually these are the pieces that you love or hate, but at least they bring a different and new idea to the table, something that does not happen too often these days.

Today we came across their new Free Hat, a snapback version of the iconic Fedora Hat. It comes in grey and in black, both featuring a black satin ribbon. The hats are now available from choiceisyours.

French rapper Teki Latex, known for his “big man swag”, garnered interest from Japanese men’s label Phenomenon who enlisted him to create a capsule collection based on his own aesthetic. Apparently the range spans styles from crisp polos to top hats and canes, but the one piece we’re being shown now is a Cosby-esque blue and white cardigan woven with a top hat and cane toting polar bear. Japanese brand Phenomenon has released their new “Foot” t-shirt from the Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The graphic that we see on the tee is quite common in the sneaker world and they have adapted it and used this time some wingtip shoes. The tee is now available in two colorways from choiceisyours.

New from Phenomenon this season are these new Beads Sunglasses. Beads seem to be a trend, just recently we have seen them featured prominently on the Lanvin High Top Sneakers. The Japanese brand covered the arms of the sunglasses in different color beads. The sunglasses come in black and white and are now available here.

Swagger’s premium brand Phenomenon also showcases their first Fall/Winter 2009 product and as usual they are a little more experimental with their cuts and graphics. Especially the hats this season look interesting, coming in different materials, including nylon and leather. The first release will include denim, t-shirts, caps and more.

Taking advantage of their NY Yankees licensing, the Japanese heads behind Phenomenon applied this season’s “Bloody” print to a polyurethane New Era 59Fifty. The little baseball dude on the back is always a good look. Two new Phenomenon tees are also available – one a ying-yang made of pierced, tattooed breasts, and the other a mash up of post-punk band Public Image Ltd’s logo with anime ambassador Doraemon. Cool imagery, but is nothing sacred anymore?

Japanese label Phenomenon’s latest delivery includes this interesting three-finger ring. Shaped like a single piece of the popular Kit Kat chocolate bar, the ring is embossed with the phrase “Kick It” in the expected font. The ring comes in silver or gold and is available now at choiceisyours.jp.

After a phenomenal (no pun intended) first release from TISA, Phenomenon and German leather goods manufacturer MCM, the three brands have teamed up once again, this time adding a fourth partner, by way of Japanese retailer Liquor, Woman & Tears.

The new collection consists of many of the same items we saw before, including bags, belts, wallets, and other small leather goods. This time around, each piece comes in red or mocha, rather than blue, with the signature MCM all-over print being carried across each product. A few items are also offered in a clear format.

The MCM x Tisa/Phenomenon x Liquor, Woman & Tears Collection will be available Saturday, June 27th at Phenomenon stores in Japan, followed by an online release at Choiceisyours.jp on Monday, June 29th. The collection arrives at Liquor, Woman & Tears on July 4th, 2009.
