Last week Paris based brand Pigalle presented their new Fall/Winter 2012 Collection in a beautiful Parisian location. On stage friends and family of the brand were modeling the new styles of the season. Blazers, shirts, interesting knit pieces and of course the signature headwear of the brand were presented. We like the look that the brand went for and feel like it fits Pigalle 100%.

To celebrate its 30th Anniversary Merrell decided to work with two french boutiques, colette and Pigalle. Both of them reinterpreted the classic Merrell Wilderness into some new. Check out the behind-the-scenes video above shot by Mathias FENNETAUX.

Parisian brand Pigalle showed us their new collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Cutting down the apparel part to the bare essentials, consisting of pants, vests and blazers, all in matching colors, the brand concentrates going forward on their extensive and popular hat program.

The collection includes wool and leather caps, as well as straw hats. We especially like their earflap caps with corduroy or fur linings. Look out for the collection to release early at colette and their own store in Paris and other retailers  will follow later on.

Parisian brand PIGALLE recently showed their Autumn/Winter 2011 clothing and headwear collection as part of Paris Fashion Week. Taking place at the PIGALLE Boutique and the nearby restaurant “Côté 9e” the crew presented a line featuring an attractive range of both apparel and hats. While the clothing will only be available through the Pigalle Boutique, the headwear will be found at select shops around the world. Have a look.

Last night Stussy celebrated their 30th anniversary in Paris. The evening started on a rooftop in the heart of the Pigalle district of the city with a nice barbecue. The party was organized by Pigalle, SlamJam and colette. People from all over the globe were in place, with most of the support coming from Amsterdam, LA, New York, Berlin and of course Paris. A 360 degree view of Paris only made the night more special. All in all a great setup and fun event, which continued in a club with SlamJam, Pigalle and the Patta crew spinning.

With much anticipation we attended earlier this evening the collection presentation for Spring/Summer 2011 of our good friends from Pigalle, Paris. Entitled, Zrenjanin to Pigalle, the collection tells the story of a journey, from a village in Serbia to the scandalous neighborhood of Paris.

Created by Pigalle owner Stephane Ashpool and Loic van Herreweghe, the two designers wanted to fill in the gaps of a long journey. A journey that took Stephane from his mother’s birthplace in Serbia to his own, in the red-light district of the French capitol. Their approach was to recreate staples of fashion by having these two influences meet on canvas. Hand-tinted fabrics with manual embroideries make up most of the collection, transcribing the soul of the Balkans onto the clothing. The silhouettes of the collection are certainly Parisian, especially in terms of their references and legacy.

Something that we always appreciated most about the store and the people around Pigalle, was their tightly knit community and spirit, something which was perfeclty brought to life in the presentation tonight. Presented on a square in the heart of the Pigalle disctrict, in front of the Pigalle store, one could feel as being part of this community of like minded people. Models were good friends, a band was playing and everybody was having fun. Just the way you would expect Pigalle to present their first collection. Look out for it in stores Spring/Summer 2011.

The Pigalle crew from Paris also hosted a great exhibition this month. Artist Paul Hamy exhibited his work for the first time ever in an exhibition entitled “Chapeau, Chimeres et Formes” (Hats, Chimeras and Shapes).

“From his hats’ collection (some Fedoras, a few Porkpies and trillbies) to the animal face rings made in gaffer tape, through The two windows of the shop that were occupied by two huge pieces suggesting a man with a top-hat trying to escape, we discover Paul’s technique he names scochin’.

The narrow corridor of the Pigalle store was redecorated with zoologically shaped lampshades manufactured in tape letting the light show trough : l’”en-poule”, a hat ,an egg.

Lastly we are enraptured in front of a sample of his metal wiring styles sculptures; “The patient woman” and “The man falling”. His talent is incontestable, the details subjugates, one can’t hazard a guess to the path of his technique. congr-hat-ulation.”

The exhibition is still on display until this coming Sunday, so make sure to pass by. The hats will stay in the shop and are for sale.

Recently Paris saw a very interesting new store opening its doors – Pigalle. Created by Mr. Ashpool and PainOchoKolat, a great new boutique has been added to the already fantastic shopping experience in Paris. It is always great seeing people even in such big cities, that already seem to have everything, open stores that surprise and impress.

Pigalle carries an interesting mix of brands that include Dr. Romanelli, Rick Owens, Huf, Wood Wood, Swagger, Phenomenon, Nike, Adidas, Pigalle sweaters and t-shirts, North Face, Winfield and many more. Also they are constantly sourcing vintage pieces of well respected high end designers.
