Sex, Drugs & Hip-Hop. Fine art. Comfort. These all play a role in the development of Plain Gravy’s Holiday 2008 collections. On comfort, we find some excellent sweatpants, crews and hoodies. Everything is in the details. Fine art? The above t-shirt, inspired, by Kandinsky is a clear winner. Too Short represents on one t-shirt, a nicely rendered vagina on another. All this is available now at Digital Gravel, along with caps, jackets and a small set of accessories.

The line is ambitious, in that a great number of references are employed from disperate fields. That being said, a good number of garments tie well together. The sweat suits match well with the leather cap, a golden era look. And, there is something refreshing about graphics driven by multiple influences.

Plain Gravy presents as part of their Fall 2008 collection a perforated leather 5-panel cap. If we remember right, this is the first cap to come from the brand. The entire upper comes in perforated leather, the bottom of the brim in suede. The Plain Gravy “PG” logo only appears on the back of the cap.

The Plain Gravy 5-panel cap is now available at Hall Of Fame.

Plain Gravy is one of those special brands that sits somewhere in between streetwear and fashion. Created by artist Tofer and Todd Tourso, the brand stays true to its Californian roots in their style and manages to attract both the hardcore streetwear customer and the more casual and fashionable dresser, which is an interesting situation to be in. Maybe its simply because they are trying less hard than so many others out there (at least it seems that way), which ends up giving their line a certain lightness.
Anyways, their new collection is about to be released. The new Plain Gravy Summer ‘08 collection consists of t-shirts, crewneck sweaters, hoodies and shorts, as well as some accessories.
The collection will be hitting stores at the end of May, so make sure to look out for it. A complete look at what to expect, after the jump.

It has been quiet around Plain Gravy, the label by artist Tofer, in the past few months. We have showed you some pieces out of their Holiday collection this past summer, during the tradeshow season and now the goods are about to land in stores. Since we gave you already most Fall previews from the Bread & Butter and United NYC tradeshows, we try to find interesting bits and pieces here in Las Vegas that we have not shown so far. Plain Gravy is showing their new collection at United and as usual its has some very strong pieces.
Driven by the art background of the person behind the brand, Tofer, Plain Gravy presents a nice range of t-shirts for Holiday 2007. Also the “Jesus/Satan” design comes back this season, but this time on a hoodie. In terms of accessories they present a line-up of sunglasses as well as beanies.
