The Tanju stands out as something unique from Pointer, the UK-based label that has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons. Mating Penny Loafer and boat shoe DNA, we arrive at an excellent grown-up, yet casual, summer shoe. This season the Tanju is offered in navy suede, navy leather, brown leather, or tan suede. We take a first look at the new Pointer x Comme des Garcons SHIRT footwear collaboration for Spring/Summer 2011. They worked with white leather and camouflage print leather this season. While we do find the get together of the two brands very interesting, we would expect more from them. Especially the white leather shoe seems a little misplaced in a collection by two brands that we otherwise appreciate a lot and are known for their solid, yet creative work. Just our opinion. Our favorite is of course the camouflage loafer.

The Pointer Benson has become a trademark of the footwear maker and of course returns for Spring/Summer 2011. The true moccasin wrap-around construction, atop a custom-designed rubber sole – all in all a very clean looking sneaker and/or shoe. This season the Benson is coming in both suede and leather colorways. Some of them are available now from Coggles.

Pointer has released their new duck boot inspired silhouette as part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection – the Pluckrose. Here we present it in a chocolate brown colorway, featuring a mix of suede and waxed canvas on the upper. Obviously functionality is secondary on this release, which focusses more on the design elements of the classic duck boot.

One of the most interesting new silhouettes to be released from Pointer as part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is the Connor. The Connor is a mid cut boot, featuring suede uppers, a leather mid-sole and Vibram outer sole. We love the clean looks of the boot, which also takes a bit of a moccasin inspiration. The three colorways of the boot should be releasing very soon.

Gareth from Pointer and Brian from Wood Wood talk about their recent collaboration during the launch event at Wood Wood Berlin.

In an interesting collaboration footwear brand Pointer and Danish brand Wood Wood have linked up for Spring/Summer 2011.

“This spring, heritage inspired footwear brand Pointer and Danish designers Wood Wood present a collaboration that combines classical design and modern trends.

The result is a trend setting shoe in two strong colour ways: purple and racing green.

Wood Wood’s intention of the project was to work with a traditional inspired style and give it a fresh twist. The Pointer Crago is just that, a simple and sophisticated lace-up shoe with a stitch-down construction.

Coming in suede, the Pointer by Wood Wood shoe attains its special character not only by its vibrant colours but also thorough the perforations on the vamp that are a reference to both brogues and moccasins.

For the first time, the Crago comes with a crepe sole that completes the projects style perfectly. Also, each pair of shoes comes with three different sets of cord laces, allowing the wearer to play around with different colour combinations to personalize each shoe individually.

All these details bring out the brands signatures and make it a unique and exceptional shoe.

The limited WW Crago is hand-made in Portugal, guaranteeing high quality leathers and fabrication.”

We take a first look at clean new silhouette to release from the Pointer Spring 2011 Collection – the Connor. The classic crepe boot comes with a soft suede upper, contrasting stitching and reminds of a moc boot. Look out for a release of the boot in two colorways in the coming weeks.

Footwear brand Pointer has teamed up with Porter for Spring 2011 on a small bag collection. The line consists of a rucksack, a tote bag and a small wallet. All three pieces come in navy/beige colorway and will release early next year.
