This weekend, popular consignment sneaker shop, Flight Club, opened its third New York location, on the border of Soho and Nolita. While Flight Club originally only offered sneaker consignment, the Lafayette location takes the idea one step further by offering a selection of vintage apparel.

According men.style.com, most of the apparel “is vintage Polo Ralph Lauren, especially from the early nineties, including Polo Sport, Polo Bear, Polo Tech, and Polo Outdoorsman. No surprise, since it’s long been the gold standard for sneakerheads of all ages (not to mention guys nostalgic for long-lost high school gear). Other brands are limited but include the North Face, Prada, Supreme, Starter, and Patagonia, and, of course, a huge assortment of highly prized sneakers. “The idea is to be the ultimate closet for guys that are into this stuff,” says Flight Club’s Sky Gellatly.”

New pieces of the Raf Simons x Fred Perry Fall/Winter 2008 collection have been released. The collection sticks to black and simple branding. The latest drop consists of a polo, v-neck sweater and knitted cardigan.
Raf Simons has based the collection on Fred Perry skiwear first introduced in the 1960’s and features an exclusive 30 leaf embroidered Laurel logo originally used in the 60’s. Pieces from this collection are highly limited and now available at End.

Once again Futura Laboratories presents as part of their new season a Bearbrick featuring the famous atomic rings design by Futura. This season it comes in white with blue and red atomic rings on the sides. Matching the Bearbrick, the brand also presents t-shirts in several colorways and polos.

American Rag & Cie is celebrating their 10th anniversary and prepared an array of collaborations for the occasion. We present you the polo shirt that the brand did in collaboration with Fred Perry. It comes with neon accents on the collar and the sleeves and features a black on black stripe design all-over the upper.

After presenting you last week the F.C.R.B. Multi Gingham Check Shirt, we show you today the new F.C.R.B. Multi Basic Polo Shirt. The polo is made up of different panels, which feature different colors both on the front and back.
It will be released on May 30th and is exclusive to Sophnet Stores.

LACOSTE has teamed up with New York’s Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C.) for a limited edition capsule collection of polos and tennis shoes. Images have been circulating for a while already, but now we can give you an exclusive and complete first look at this fascinating upcoming collaboration project. The world famous rare sneaker resource located on the Lower East Side at 158 Rivington Street was opened in 2001 by the ALIFE design studio. 

‘The Rivington Club is committed to brands that have a true athletic history’, says Arnaud Delecolle, ALIFE co-founder. ‘A.R.C.’s aesthetic involves classic sports imagery, heritage and tradition. This translates into bold color statements with highly visible and recognizable graphics. When given the opportunity to work on the classic LACOSTE polo shirt, we decided to apply this aesthetic to the garments. We stayed in line with our shop’s colour theme of black, red and purple and decided to increase the scale of the crocodile logo to a truly utilitarian size. The concept being if these shirts were worn on the field, all the graphic elements would serve their purpose of conveying information from a distance.’

A.R.C. also changed some of the shirt’s construction elements to reflect the sturdiness required on rugby jerseys, including the collar and placket system as well as the inside tape on the collars and side vents. There are two polos in two colours each: one features the red A.R.C logo opposing the crocodile on white and black/grey polos, while the other has the gold Rivington Club crest embroidered on the left breast on both red and black polos. All have the number 158 sewn on the back, a nod to their Rivington Street address.

For footwear, A.R.C. stayed with the sports uniform theme to tie in to the polo shirts. They proposed the Ardeur tennis shoe, which was the original LACOSTE performance tennis shoe dating from 1983, in solid colours of white, black, purple and red with the bold A.R.C. logo brandished on the heel. The uppers are tone-on-tone leather with piqué mesh side panels, while the authentic polyurethane mid and outsole provide cushioned comfort. The shoes incorporate A.R.C.’s signature red/black bias striped pattern on the tongue with a white LACOSTE logo, while the leather in-sole features a black/white print and A.R.C. logo.
Once again A.R.C. presents an impressive collaborative project and they managed to infuse their style and philosophy into Lacoste product, without the product loosing its very own Lacoste style and history.
The A.R.C. x Lacoste collection will be released in July at Rivington Club, Barney’s in NYC, Colette, Dover Street Market, 10 Corso Como and select Lacoste doors.

Fred Perry has released some new polo shirts on the Japanese market. Their classic polo comes this time with subtle floral embroideries on the side. The embroidery is pretty large, but since they kept it rather thin, it did not come out too strong.
The polo is now available in black and white at Zozo.

The Fred Perry x Comme Des Garcons Spring/Summer ‘08 collection has been released and is now available online at Triads. This is the last collection of this collaboration, as this winter Raf Simons will be working with Fred Perry instead.

A couple of weeks ago we presented you the latest Fred Perry Blank Canvas Project, where they worked with &Son. For Dover Street Market they made some exclusive polos in the series that will only be available there. Inspired by “dazzle” camouflage (deployed by the British navy on its boats during both world wars to confuse enemies), &Son’s limited-edition polos feature bold graphics and colors. But they’re really limited: There are only 12 in existence, and each is hand-screened. Via Men.Style.Com. They will be released in May and will go for 310 USD.

With all the strong graphic t-shirts and toys coming from Original Fake one tends to only look at the design and forgets about the outstanding quality that the entirely in Japan produced line delivers and with that said, the more subtle pieces also tend to not be shown as much.
Well, here we have such as piece, a classic polo shirt out of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection. It comes in all black and features a Kaws Chompers teeth detail on both sides. A bit less is definitely a lot more in this case.
