Hixsept Atomic Peace T-Shirts and Poster

hixsept atomic peace 0 540x360 Hixsept Atomic Peace T Shirts and Poster

As part of French label Hixsept’s 10th Anniversary celebration, they’ve introduced a new series of t-shirts under the moniker Atomic Peace. This three t-shirt lineup features a set of re-interpreted symbols created with patchwork shapes and colors. Each design is limited to 150 pieces, and features a special 1999-2009 tag.

To complement the t-shirts, Hixsept recruited artist Samuel Francois to design a poster to represent the collection. The result is a drawing full of worrying realism, where a strange character becomes the guru of a new world where anarchy, peace and duality become universal precepts. This poster is limited to 300 examples and is available for free at all Hixsept retailers.

Have a look at more images of the Hixsept Atomic Peace T-Shirts and Poster after the jump.

shepard fairey orwell front Shepard Fairey George Orwell Series

Artist of the moment Shepard Fairey’s work for 2008 was certainly not limited to the now ubiquitous image of Obama. Fairey was also commissioned by Penguin Books to design covers for the re-release of the Orwell classics 1984 and Animal Farm. Both covers have been produced as posters, which sold quickly at the initial UK launch. Obey will be offering them to US customers on December 31, 2008. The pair hits for $140. highsnobiety - Barack Obama Print By Grotesk
Swiss graphic artist and Brooklyn resident Grotesk has partnered with Upper Playground to produce an exclusive Barack Obama print. In the last decade Grotesk has developed a passion for folk art, street photography, hand-painted signs, vintage sport graphics, old school hip-hop music and urban anthropology.
Grotesk’s Barack Obama poster is part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Upper Playground has endorsed Obama’s campaign by creating posters featuring artwork from The Date Farmers, Munk One, Ron English, Alex Pardee, Morning Breath, Mac, Sam Flores and Mear One, in addition to printing T-shirts with Shepard Fairey’s Obama graphics to help support the campaign.
There were 200 prints made that are signed and numbered, but only 30 prints will be available for sale and each poster retails for $200. The limited-edition 18"X24" print is available exclusively online.
All proceeds from the sales of the poster will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama’s bid for President.
After the jump a look at the complete work.

Ron English Obama Poster

04 June 2008, 09.48 | Posted in Art | 2 comments »

highsnobiety - ron english obama poster In this election year it there is little debate as to who the streetwear world is supporting for next US President. It begs a few questions. First, do we not dress like Republicans? Are there no hardcore feminists amongst our ranks?
While several companies have made stance driven products, Upper Playground has been responsible for the most compelling. Their poster series, which features work from Sam Flores, Alex Pardee and Shepard Fairey, endorsing Barak Obama is some of the most inspired contemporary political art. The newest in the series comes from Ron English. He connects Obama to Lincoln, adding the famous beard to the Illinois senators features. The poster is available direct from Upper Playground in a limited run of 200. All posters are signed and numbered.
