Futura’s recent LA show, Strategic Synchronicity, marked an extraordinary return from one of graffiti’s most influential pioneers: the progression and intricacies of the pieces confirmed the collection as his best work to date – and the sell-out show was greeted with respect and admiration by the art world.

Strategic Synchronicity was produced by curators KRUNK, an international team dedicated to the concept of ‘pop-up’ art shows staged in unique settings, with specially-created multimedia backdrops that use music and film to heighten the viewing experience.

Collectors now have one final chance to own a part of this seminal show: KRUNK has re-created two of the key abstract paintings from the collection in ‘ultimate’ quality print form.

The prints are priced at £525 each, excluding delivery.

Todd James (aka REAS) has launched a new personal website to push his prints and ‘zines. Today, November 20, James will release “The New Deal.” A limited run of 150 has been produced, at a size of 29.9″ by 22″.

Following September’s Scion sponsored, Ill-Studio helmed Art of Music exhibition in LA, a series of prints from the show has become available in limited numbers. Artists represented include Steven Harrington and So-Me. The prints can be found online at Sixpack, but remember that each has a run of just 5.

Fine artist David Choe is the latest artist to partner with Upper Playground to produce not one, but TWO Barack Obama prints. Choe has designed and produced apparel, adidas sneakers, comic books, movie posters, album covers, fine art books and toys, among many other projects.

David Choe’s Barack Obama posters are part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Upper Playground has endorsed Obama’s campaign by creating posters featuring artwork from Grotesk, The Date Farmers, Munk One, Ron English, Alex Pardee, Morning Breath, Mac, Sam Flores and Mear One, in addition to printing T-shirts with Shepard Fairey’s Obama graphics to help support the campaign.

There were 200 prints made that are signed and numbered of each design, and each poster retails for $200. The limited-edition 18"X24" prints are available exclusively online. All proceeds from the sales of the posters will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama’s bid for President.

In additional news, Upper Playground is partnering with Shepard Fairey, MoveOn.org and Evolutionary Media Group on a special exhibit at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. The Manifest Hope Gallery (www.manifesthope.com) will showcase both established and emerging artists and present the most widely recognized pieces seen throughout the 2008 presidential primary campaign, as well as newly commissioned works and previous works on loan from some of the United States’ top artists.

Featured artists at the exhibit will include Shepard Fairey and many of the artists that have designed Obama posters via Upper Playground including Sam Flores, Mac, Ron English, David Choe, The Date Farmers, and Justin Bua (his print will be available soon). Other artists include Chris Pastras, Mel Kadel, Todd Lockwood, Maya Hayuk, Cathie Bleck, CRO (Go Tell Mama), Evan Hecox, Lukas Ketner, Gary Baseman, Scot Lefavor, Lisa Congdon, Amy Martin, and many more.  Resident DJ Jeremy Sole will on hand all week to inspire music inside the art galleries.

Takashi Murakami must be one of the most famous Japanese artists to date. Both in the art world and in the commercial world, with collaborations on high levels, the artist has made a name for himself.
With his latest print series "My First Art" the artist presents a series of prints from early works – works that he became famous and known for.

Cody Hudson and Micheal Sieban are currently both being exhibited at the Fifty24SF gallery. As part of the show, they’ve both released new prints to the Upper Playground online store. Hudson has produced three prints. The "Skull Save," seen here and a duo titled "Tear the Fucking Club Up" and "I’m Not Going Back to Jail." His prints sell for75 each, and are sized at 16" x 20". Sieban has created four prints, selling at $30 each. His are 12" by 12" and named – respectively – "Bird Creeper," "Grin and Bearit," "This Land is My Land," and "Fine Art Mountains." A discount is available if all four prints are purchased.

The original prints from the Undefeated – adidas Originals – Estevan Oriol: 1979 capsule photo exhibition at Firmament in Berlin are now available for sale in-store and online. Each print – from an edition of 10 – is framed, numbered and signed by Estevan Oriol.

Once again KaiKai Limited has released a new series of Takashi Murakami prints. This time they dropped the “Creatures of Planet 66″ series, all in all a collection of 4 prints. They are all now available in the Honeyee Store.

Chuck Anderson has released a series of 12 new prints in his online store. The prints are limited between 35 and 75 pieces and as usual come with very good pricing! Make sure to check them out!

Santa’s Ghetto is a low-cost art event, that has some pretty big names in it. This year (as reported earlier by us) they went to Bethlehem opposite the Church of the Nativity to put their art on the walls.
Participating artists were this year Banksy, Kelsey Brooks, Ron English, Swoon, Blu, Aiko, 3D and many others. There is a dedicated website of the event, showing lots of pictures of the art and the environment that is was created in. It definitely a very impressive art project.
They also released limited edition prints by some of the artists, including Banksy and Kelsey Brooks, but you have to hurry to get one of those!
