Puma has released the Suede Fat Lace in Japan. The sneaker sticks to its classic looks and elements, except for one little interesting detail – the Puma logo stripe has been given the look of a fat lace. The sneaker comes in three colorways and is now available from Mita.

Today we take a look at the Puma by Miharasuhiro Fall/Winter 2009 high top sneakers. The German footwear brand has worked with the Japanese designer for many years now and once again the new collection introduces interesting new looks, unseen from other brands in the market. The new collection was heavily inspired by animals and thus features many animal patterns on the footwear, next to otherwise more subtle colors.

With PUMA’s Limited Edition Pony Cross Style Pack, we see a blend of wild, bucking color combinations and textures with classic silhouettes. This collection is inspired by PUMA’s pioneering material play in the 80s. It was a time when they created a niche for themselves by switching up material combinations and defying all conventional color and style.

The Slipstream features a multi-colored outsole, animal-print hair, and fluorescent streaks stitched in a zebra pattern. The Disc Blaze features mixing dark fur hair with bright plastics and stitching and keeping them in check with its Disc System lacing. The pack will be released tomorrow at Hanon.

For Spring/Summer 2010 Puma and Hussein Chalayan present their first collaborative collection. Entitled “Urban Mobility”, Chalayan presents a collection that shows off his talent for material innovation and Puma’s technical excellence.

“At the heart of the collaboration is Chalayan’s exploration of new technology, which has produced spellbinding runway moments: skirts that opened and folded by remote control, furniture that morphed into clothing and outfits orbited by electric lights.

While not as extreme, the pieces designed for Puma continue Chalayan’s penchant for cutting-edge style combined with function.”

The collaboration between the designer and the brand is long-term. We will of course keep you posted.

Two new themed Puma Clyde packs have been released as part of their Fall 2009 Collection. The Puma Clyde comes in the Raps pack in two colorways and features a paint spot design. The Puma Clyde Africa also comes in two colorways, featuring oiled upper leathers and graphic details around the eyelets. Both packs are now available at Mita.

Today we give you a look at the latest Puma Disc Blaze – a sneaker quite fond of loud colors and patterns. This incarnation is no exception with a prominently Tiger striped upper and one of the two colorways featuring a mean green dial. Watch for these to hit soon at The Good Will Out and other Puma dealers.

Puma was once again digging around in their archives and will from August 2009 be releasing classic colorways of the Puma Suede. Each month Puma will be releasing 3 original colorways of the Suede, all featuring butter soft suede uppers and of course fat laces. The collection will be coming to Wellgosh and other premium Puma retailers.

Produced and developed in association with Sergio Rossi and Puma, the unisex Hybrid Collection explores the morphing of genres, a re-occuring theme in Chalayan’s work. Borrowing elements from existing footwear styles, the unisex Hybrid Collection offers a fresh interpretation of the trainer. The colour palette includes taupe, black, coffee, neutral and white. Fabrics range from suede and calf leather to nylon puffa. The collection is comprised of five key styles and will be available shortly at oki-ni.

The next sneaker from the Puma x Sergio Rossi collection has been released. The First Round comes in an all black leather colorway and a white leather/off-white suede and both super clean. The entire upper comes in black leather, with only a few perforated details on the toe box and logo stripe. The white model comes in a nice mix of leathers on the upper. The sneakers are now available at colette.

For Fall 2009 the Puma First Round comes in a limited edition pack, consisting of two sneakers. They keep it classic and bring the high top sneaker in a white and a black colorway, both featuring subtle gold accents on the upper, as well as on the laces. The pack is now available at Mita.
