When we read about Japanese label R. Newbold, we often see the name attached to London’s Goodhood, this time around, another UK name is affixed to Paul Smith’s collection with Umbro. The two got together to put forth a unique camo piece with this down jacket. The pattern is one that is employed by the British Army, so it fittingly makes its way to this piece.

Goodhood presents its 7th collaborative collection with R. Newbold for Fall/Winter 2011. The new line offers a nice selection of sweaters, shirts, jackets, as well as accessories, including ties, backpacks and fur lined sneakers. As usual you get a nice mix of classics and more eye catching patterns.

“Our long term collaboration with R. Newbold reaches its 7th collection. A galaxy print and can be found on a number of items including a basic backpack and an iconic pair of chuck lows with this seasons choice footwear detail – fur lining. Other items of interest include a tie based on the classic Royal Marines Regiment tie tweaked to feature lightning bolts instead of stripes. Jacquard chambray shirts featuring lightning bolts and military chinos with engineered star prints. One of the highlights for for us was being able to design the iconic chuck’s. The black suede pair with an embossed star print lend themselves particularly to our tastes. The off white fur lining, the lightning bolt bumper print and the heel patch message all combine to create a great piece of footwear.”

For Fall/Winter 2011 Barbour has produced a small range of goods with R. Newbold. A vest, the Bedale Jacket and the Quilting Jacket come as part of this collaboration in new colors and with added details. R. Newbold added prints to the vest and the Bedale jacket, giving the otherwise very classic pieces a more modern appeal. At the same time, the brand used the classic plaid and tartan fabrics for the lining, which results in an overall interesting mash-up. The three pieces will release in several colorways September 2011.

As part of their on-going collaboration, London store Goodhood and R. Newbold present a low top canvas sneaker for Spring/Summer 2011. The sneaker features a camo pattern on the upper, olive green toe cap and polka dots on the suede heel tab.

First pieces from the 6th collection by R. Newbold and Goodhood have released for Spring/Summer 2011. The range for is based around a central military theme but also features a number of hallmarks from their ongoing collaboration including further polka dot and leopard prints. They have also reworked some of their most popular styles from earlier seasons, such as the hooded field jacket, polka dot denim and a reworked military pant.

The on-going collaboration between London store Goodhood and R. Newbold has been released in part for Spring 2010. The drop includes shirts, denim, jackets, sweaters and t-shirts. All pieces have an obvious heritage inspiration, while the Goodhood crew added some great details, bringing the styles into the modern age. The collection is now available at Goodhood and soon at other fine retailers around the globe.

For Holiday 2009, Goodhood and R.Newbold present their 3rd collaborative collection. Once again the collection features some great pieces, including a down filled puffa pea coat, leather accessories, a backpack and more. The shawl collar sweaters with multicolor buttons are also a highlight in the collection, which once again demonstrates how up-to-date workwear inspired clothing can look like.
