For Spring/Summer 2012 Ray-Ban continues with its Wayfarer Rare Prints Collection. Two new designs are being introduces this season – Typadelic and Blocks. Both designs come in a series of color variations, all in a distinct 80s style, and are arriving at retailers in the coming weeks.

Ray-Ban presents a new graphic model of their iconic Wayfarer model. This time they brought the “Subway” theme to the frame, with an entire subway map being featured on white background. The sunglasses are now available at Swagger stores in Japan.

Ray-Ban continues with their Rare Prints initiative and offers for Summer 2010 once again a new seriesof colorful designs on their iconic Wayfarer silhouette. This season the sunglasses come with comic, pins and striped designs. If you are looking for something a little more unique and different, check them out.

Ray-Ban has worked with graphic designer and artist Matt W. Moore on an exclusive line-up of Wayfarers. The collection consists of 3 colorways, each coming with a print by the artist, either all-over or only on the inside of the sunglasses. The collection is exclusive to Sunglass Hut and available now.

Ray-Ban drops a limited edition gold-plated Wayfarer, dubbed the Ultra Wayfarer. Each pair is “made of black acetate with its own unique serial number stamped inside the temple. The ray ban logo is laser engraved in 18K gold and plated at the temple hinge and 1952 engraved in 18K gold and plated at the temple tip. Each pair of the Ray ban ultra wayfarer is equipped with revolutionary P3 plus polarized lenses, which feature very high quality polarization with enhanced color definition.” Now available at 80’s Purple.

Ray-Ban’s Never Hide Films set up a video both during the 2009 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Edited by Squeak E. Clean and Rossangeles, this video showcases a mash-up of 100 different “freestyles” crammed into a minute. The outcome is rather amusing.

The classic Wayfarer started to come back strong a couple of years ago. Before Ray-Ban could catch on, we saw brands such as Super create hundreds of colorways of the all-time classic and successfully releasing them into the market. After Ray-Ban finally knew what was going on, the brand also started releasing a couple of new colorways of the sunglasses.

Next year Ray-Ban will be releasing the “Colorize” kit, which much like Adicolor, bundles a pair of all white Ray-Ban Wayfarers with some markers that can be used to colorize the sunglasses. Interesting move, unseen in the sunglass market, but just like with Adicolor, the final outcome is in most cases questionable. Via Kanye/Acquire.

We reported about the DVS Luxe x Ray-Ban collabortion a while back. It’s time for the release, so we give you a detailed look at the sneaker and the sunglasses that were made as part of the collaboration. DVS worked on the classic Wayfarer model and gave it a nice color lining. Matching the sunglasses, they made a low top sneaker in all black in a mix of black leather and perforated leather.

The pack will be released in limited quantities today at In4mation Hawaii.
