Today we can give you a first look at an upcoming boot to release in Europea and North America from Red Wing for Fall/Winter 2012.

The 6-inch full brogue was first designed as a country walking shoe specifically created for use when crossing wetlands and bogs. For the people in Red Wing and the surrounding areas, heading outside often meant trekking through the Minnesota wetlands and river basins. People needed a boot that could withstand constant exposure to water and a boot that, when wet, would not break down and hurt a person’s feet.

The first people to wear brogues were farmers and gamekeepers. Small perforations were crafted into the leather of the toecaps and quarters of the boot. This design allowed water to drain and the boot to dry at a quickened pace. The perforations were only punched through the outer layer of the doubled-layered portions of the boots so that the weather resistance of the uppers was not compromised.

Red Wing has dropped these highly durable and rather nice looking Heritage 4563 Boots exclusively at select Nordstrom’s locations throughout the US. These are constructed out of a premium full grain leather and they feature a goodyear welt construction. The round toe is used here and since the seam is removed from that region of the boot, it adds a larger element of durability. The 4563 is very versatile for work or casual use, so you most likely would get your money’s worth out of these.

Continuing with their ongoing Made in USA campaign, which also included a release with RRL last year, BLENDS has unveiled their follow up to that with these 6″ Round Toe Red Wing boots. For this project. BLENDS creative director Tak Kato went with an all black suede upper, which is something never done before with this style in the USA.

Other details include tonal stitching was used throughout the upper – with the exception of contrasting white stitching above the sole – to tone down the boot. Tasteful silver eyelets were also utilized, but 3 hooks were used in lieu of eyelets on the top, which was inspired by classic Irish Setter sport boots. 150 of these will be available at all 3 Southern California BLENDS locations on December 10.

One of Southern California’s gems, BLENDS,  has linked up with Red Wing on these 6″ round toe boots as part of the boutique’s ongoing Made in USA project. Take a look at this video that serves as a preview of the upcoming release.

For Holiday 2011 Japanese retailer Beams has teamed up with Red Wing. Together they present a navy suede version of the Round Toe Boots. A nice and clean looking every day boot, featuring a white Vibram outer sole, contrasting stitching and hiking boot eyelets accents. The boots are now available here.

Previewed here months ago, this season will see the official release of the collaboration between Burton and Red Wing. The limited edition Rover snowboard boots come this season, treated with the original Red Wing look. Both leather, color, stitching details and other design elements have been inspired by the classic 6-inch Moc of Red Wing.

Red Wing gives us a sneak peak at two styles from their Heritage Genuine Handsewn collection for Spring/Summer 2012. The chukka boots – available in Amber Harness of Oro-iginal – featured Traction-Tred soles and are handsewn in Maine using leather from Red Wing’s SB Foot Tannery, to the exacting standards that all Red Wing shoes are made.

Red Wing presents a solid looking leather/canvas Chukka boot from their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. A mix of brown leather and military green canvas is featured on the upper and paired with a clean white boat shoe outer sole. Simply nothing that you can do wrong with this one.

Red Wing introduces their most classic boot, the 875, in two new colorways for Spring/Summer 2011. The high rise leather boots come in a Maize Mustang colorway with white outer sole and an All Black colorway, including the mid and outer soles being black.

The Red Wing Chukka Boot remains to be one of our favorite silhouettes of the brand, mostly because of its slightly slimmer and overall less bulky looks. For Spring 2011 the boot comes in two new refreshing colorways – Burnt Orange and Blueberry. Both boots are now in stock from C Store (storeguide).
