It looks like Burton teamed up with Red Wing to produce a set of snowboard boots. The boots imitate quite well the Red Wing Classic Work Boot, using original Red Wing leather on the upper, hiking boot laces and of course the white outer sole. There also seems to be a second colorway in the pack. It looks like the workwear crowd can finally switch from telemark skiing to snowboarding.

For Autumn/Winter 2011, Red Wing introduces the Oxblood Series of boots. Spanning the 214, 213 and 212 lace-up boots, the rich leather upper speaks for itself over three different heights of moc-toe footwear. Gorgeous. Look for a releasing this coming fall.

For Spring 2011 Red Wing is releasing a limited edition colorway of their Classic Work 6″ Round-Toe Boot. The boot comes in a nice light grey suede colorway and will be released exclusively ahead of other stores at the official Nigel Cabourn Tokyo flagship – the Army Gym. Via honeyee.

Red Wing previews a new blue suede 877 8-inch high boot. Dubbed the ‘Sky High’ this Red Wing Shoe Co model is scheduled to drop for Autumn/Winter 2011. Refreshing.

While Red Wing stays true to their heritage and continues to produce their premium styles in the US, they are slowly starting to introduce some new colors into their collection. For Fall/Winter 2010, one of their most iconic styles, the 6 Moc boot, comes in a new light grey suede colorway, khaki suede colorway and maize leather colorway. We especially like the two new suede additions. All three are now available from the C Store.

Red Wing Shoes recently opened its first official store in the Netherlands. Working with denim boutique Tenue de Nîmes, the American brand set up shop in the distinctive Reestraat area of Amsterdam.

The Red Wing store in the “9 streets” area pays tribute to the rich history of the brand, which was launched in 1905 by Charles Beckman, having spotted a growing demand for sturdy work boots. The shoes are displayed on top of steel and antique glass show cases, which are filled with coal. The dark, concrete walls have been decorated with workman’s tools that date back to the days when Red Wing was a fledgling company. One wooden wall, which itself was made from materials from an old Amish water tower, is used to exhibit most of the accessories on offer. Everything between these walls reminds you of the history of Red Wing, but in a contemporary setting. The store’s design is the result of a collaboration between a number of exceptional designers: Joachim Baan, Pim van Lingen, Kenneth Jaworski, Roeland interieurbouw and the gentlemen from Tenue de Nîmes.

The Red Wing store’s collection will consist of a wide range of Red Wing shoes, shoe maintenance items, belts, gloves, as well as other accessories. Some of the brands that represent this part of the overall assortment include American Optical, Duluth Pack, Heritage Leather Company, Royal Republiq, Tanner Goods and The Hill-Side. Aside from all the beautiful leather goods, the store also provides shoe maintenance itself, a service for the true shoe fanatic: next to the entrance is a special chair, reserved for customers looking for a special treatment for his or her shoes.

We also passed through the Red Wing booth at Bread & Butter. The heritage brand will be introducing colors into their collection. Do not expect anything crazy, they are thankfully being very careful with the colors and stick to blues, and new tones of beige and grey. The outcome is great, we especially like their Chukka boot, that you see here above. Expect these new boots to release in the coming months.

Red Wing worked closely with J.Crew designers on the silhouette of the Rugged Leather Chukka Boot. In this version it comes crafted from a specially waxed cotton canvas (it’s produced by seventh-generation dyers and finishers) and custom-tanned Copper Rough & Tough full-grain Red Wing leather (made from premium U.S. cattle hides). Further details include the triple-stitching, signature dyed-to-match and contrast waxed threads, leather trim details, brass eyelets and hooks with a gunmetal finish. Also the shoe features a Vibram mini-lug sole.
