Reigning Champ and Livestock worked on a set of four hoodies and matching fleece tote bags. Constructed of Polartec Thermal Pro – a super lightweight textile that looks like classic heather sweatshirt material – each garment is embellished with colored zippers, rubber pulls and thumb holes on the cuffs. You can just count on Canadian Reigning Champ. We present the latest from the brand that is known for their excellent fleece pieces – the Heavyweight Fleece Varsity Jacket.

“To keep the style some what classic it has the custom stripe rib, high fold down collar and the double welt pockets. This time we are offering this style with a heavy #8 full zipper front and flat locked seams.

The style is offered in Black, Navy, Dark Brown, Dark Purple all with white sleeves and stripes. Sport Classic.”

In fact this jacket looks so well made, that one does not even notice that the sleeves are not leather at first sight.

Livestock gives us a teaser of their upcoming collaboration with Reigning Champ. Working with a classic heather grey fleece hoodie, LS chose four different colored zips for a bit of light in the cold, dark months to come. These will drop sometime in the start of November at all four Livestock locations, as well as online.

This season Canadian label Reigning Champ explored a couple new fabrics groups. One of those fabrics is Polartec Thermal Pro, a synthetic fabric that with a heather pattern that looks like a traditional cotton garment, while being feather light compared cotton hoodies. This piece features a small welded zip pocket on the lower back, a cycling champion stripe locker loop, black nylon zips and added thumb holes on the cuffs. Ideal for a rip around town on your bike. Available in Heather Blue and Heather Grey.

With years of collective manufacturing under their belts, Reigning Champ found themselves sitting on a surplus of fabric. So what did they do? Produce a series of black hoodies with colored hoods. A simple solution, and a great reuse of material. Available this fall at select retailers.

Reigning Champ offers the following words on their signature Canadian Heavyweight Fleece fabric.

The foundation of Reigning Champ is this. What we are known around the world for is this. This is our Signature Canadian Heavyweight Fleece. Weighing in at 25oz. it is knit very tightly and has a stiffness that cannot be found elsewhere.

Often imitated but never duplicated with the same characteristics. Perhaps it has something to do with the water in Canada. Has a starchiness hand and stiffness that makes garments hold it’s form. Yet the loops of the French Terry interior give a comfortable feel and wear.

We use large #8 zippers on our zip hoodies to match the tough and rugged character of the fabric. Flat locking is used on all major seams for strength and to keep the seams flat. Bar tacks are positioned where needed to add to the durability and strength to our garments. A sturdy 1×1 ribbing is made to match the character of the heavyweight fabric.

Patta’s latest collaborative project is a team-up with Canada’s Reigning Champ, the in-house brand of the CYC Design factory known for great design, fit and quality sweaters, hoodies, fleeces and shirts. Patta and Reigning Champ have created a set of heavyweight Canadian fleece garments, which consists of a custom zip hood jacket and fleece
sweatpants.

The jacket features subtle details such as thermal lining, button overlay and detachable split zip hood, while the sweatpants feature adjustable draw cord waist and bottom cuffs and side pockets/back welt pocket with zip closure. Both garments feature military-inspired cross-brand labeling. 2 colorways in all: dark navy and heather grey.

The sets are limited to 75 pieces per color worldwide and scheduled to release at Patta on Saturday September 4th with a retailprice of 250,00 euro per set.

Other selected retailers including 24Kilates, Colette, Foot Patrol, Hanon, Norse and Soto will have the set available as well on Saturday September 11th.

Canadian brand Reigning Champ has teamed up with Kookbox Surfboards. Together they worked on some custom Reigning Champ hoodies with red Kookbox graphic embroideries and some beautiful custom surfboards.

“Kookbox Surfboards, which represents both New York and San Diego is a surfboard brand by none other than Southern California’s favorite son Joel Tudor. Kookbox represents the best of hand shaped and hand glassed Californian surfboards.

We had the privilege of working with Kookbox on a set of custom zip hoodies. 3 colorways in all, the hoodies were meticulously branded in Kookbox fashion. Their skull & daggers branding go so well with our tough Canadian heavyweight fleece.

The good people at Kookbox allowed us to get a few surfboards custom crafted with Wayne Levin’s iconic “Duck Dive” image. A true collaborative project of three representatives of hand made quality product in each of their respective crafts.”

In an interesting and for sure unexpected collaboration, Canadian Reigning Champ got together with musician John Mayer on their Stadium Hoodie. The hoodie comes in 4 colorways and is inspired by the stadium jacket, with the sleeves coming in a different color than the body. Also the buttons are a nice detail on the hoodies, which feature the artist’s logo tag on the chest. The hoodies will be released at Japanese retailer vendor on July 24th.
