Roland Berry x Shepard Fairey “Wearable Art” Collection

Roland Berry x Shepard Fairey "Wearable Art" Collection

In an interesting collaborative project the two artists Roland Berry and Shepard Fairey worked on a series of hand-crafted jackets.

“Two cutting edge American Artists, Rolland Berry and Shepard Fairey have collaborated for the first time to create a collection of “wearable art” – a collection of one-of-a-kind handmade jackets.

The collection consists of three meticulously handcrafted jackets designed by Berry that embody the elements of classic punk rock and undeniably illustrate the mutual respect and understanding the designers have for one another.

Berry approached each of these designs as 3 dimensional painting, giving each piece its own unique pallet, hand studding, hand distressing and hand pulled silk screens. The jackets took about 35 to 40 man-hours each to create, all done buy hand. And it is rumored that one of the jackets has already sold for $10,000!”

These punk rock jackets can currently be seen at Deitch Projects located at 18 Wooster St. in NYC.

Take a more detailed look at the creations of the two artists after the jump.

Reebok Freestyle Hi Roland Berry

Reebok continues its work with designer Roland Berry and the designer is sure never too shy to use color. Unlike previous designs by Roland Berry for Reebok, on the Freestyle Hi he used less graphics and played with some more color. Yet once again the turn-out is very colorful and certainly not for everyone. The sneaker is now available at Atmos.

More detailed images of the Reebok Freestyle Hi Roland Berry follow after the jump.

The pack consists of the Freestyle, Pump Omni Lite and the Pump Graphite Retro. All three sneakers come in black/white, which is rather subtle for the designer, but he makes it up with the wild pattern that he used for the sneakers.

Roland Berry x Reebok CL SW Canvas Mid “City Series”

highsnobiety - Roland Berry x Reebok CL SW Canvas Mid "City Series"
Reebok continues to work with Roland Berry, a collaboration that we have seen now for several seasons. This time the worked on a different sneaker then usual – the CL SW Canvas Mid.
"Berry has given a very simple silhouette a rather complex appearance though the use of various types of graphics, colours and materials. Each pair of kicks draws upon classic imagery from their assigned city, for instance Los Angeles features a cool blue colorway, whilst the uppers are littered with paisley print and graphics of palm trees and low rider bikes.

New York is represented by Berry’s reinterpretation of the city’s subway system and notoriety for graffiti, whilst Mexico City’s most obvious inspiration comes from the colours of the national flag. Turning back the clocks, London finds itself in medieval history, while Moscow uses imagery from the Soviet era. The Tokyo themed sneakers feature nice details, but will not see a release in these parts due to the usage of graphics depicting the Japanese army during wartime, which could cause sensitivity issues." Via Streething.
The series will release step by step between September and October of this year.
After the jump detailed images of all sneakers in the series.
