We take a closer look at the new works by artist Ron English, that are currently on showcase at the Status Factory exhibition at Opera Gallery.

“With the sponsorship of Opera Gallery, the pop-up exhibition was held in an extravagant triplex retail space in the heart of New York’s Soho district. As we showed you in the setup, the location was transformed by Ron & gang over the course of a week to give the audience the full experience of “Popaganda“.

The artwork seemed bigger in person than our preview indicated, especially in rooms with interactive sculptures to compliment the wild installations carefully created to enhance the visual experience provided by Ron’s fine brushwork and acerbic creativity. The unique show will run until October 29th so make your way down there to catch this spectacle.”

From Curated – “On Sunday, September 12, 2010, Opera Gallery becomes a pop-up preview for Ron English’s Status Factory. Ahead of the official exhibition this November (at Frank Doyle Arts Pavillion), English will share 100 new pieces of “Postmodern Propoganda.” (via Living Proof).”

Just yesterday we presented the new Ron English T-Rex “Barney Grin” toy. Today we take a first look at the Telegrinnies, also a special release for the upcoming Comic Con show. The toys will come in two colorways.

After a little preview the other day, we present today the two colorways of the T-Rex “Barney Grin” toy by Made by Monsters and artist Ron English. The toy comes in yellow and pink and will be released at the SDCC Toy Tokyo Booth on July 22nd. Both versions are 10″ tall and will retail for 135 USD.

We get a first preview of the next collaboration between toy brand Made by Monsters and artist Ron English. This time they present a 10″ T-Rex with “Barney Grin”. The toy will be released in two colorways soon. We will of course keep you posted.

Ron English got together with metal experts from Fully Visual to produce the “Figment” sculpture, available in both Bronze and White Bronze, featuring Andy Warhol’s skeletal head complete with iconic wispy wig atop a turtle-necked casket. Limited to only 15 pieces each, the sculptures are now available here.

Hurley has collaborated with artist Ron English on a series of t-shirts. The tees feature the art of the artist and overall the collaboration consists of 3 t-shirts. Look out for a release soon.

We get a first look at the upcoming collaboration between eS and artist Ron English. Unlike most artworks by the artist, the sneaker keeps an overall subtle look, coming in a black/grey colorway with small graphic details on the heel.

Paying homage to Joseph Beuys’ 1965 performance art piece, “How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare”, Ron English does it again with his own “How to explain the art world to a dead hare.” Filmed on location in McAllen, Texas while Mr. English was filming scenes for his 3rd full length film “The Emperor’s New Art.”
