Once again Ryan McGinley will be exhibiting new work at the Team Gallery. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere will run from the 18th of March through the 17th of April 2010. Team Gallery is located at 83 Grand Street, cross streets Wooster and Greene, on the ground floor.

“For his latest exhibition, Ryan McGinley has shifted his focus away from constructing a youthful sublime within the boundless American landscape and has concentrated instead on creating imagery within the confines of his New York studio. The result is a surprisingly restrained, open-ended study of black and white portraiture. Here we see McGinley not as a chronicler of youthful adventure, but as an engine for an almost scientific cataloguing of a kind of emotional optimism.”

This is McGinley’s third solo show at Team. A new monograph published by Dashwood Books will accompany the exhibition. Included is a conversation between McGinley and photographer Catherine Opie.

The historic and creative brand Pringle of Scotland have taken the bold move forward to present the Spring Summer collection in the form of a film, created by art photographer Ryan McGinley and starring the Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton.

The short film explores iconic elements of the Scottish terrain whilst delivering beautiful images of the clothes themselves on the captivating and bewitching actress.

Having manned the lens on campaigns for both companies in the past, Ryan McGinley, was a natural fit for the Levi’s x Opening Ceremony “Cords” collection shoot. Though part of the Spring release, McGinley worked with a Fall theme (in both concept and season.) The first edition of “Cords” is now available at Opening Ceremony stores, including online here.

After having a couple of exhibitions showcasing his latest work, entitled Moonmilk, photographer Ryan McGinley has now released the book of the exhibition, carrying the same title. Hailed by The New York Times as the best photobook of the past year, Moonmilk is produced as a limited run of 1000. The book is now available from Opening Ceremony.

Selectism has a look at the latest issue of Agnes b’s in house publication Point d’ironie. “As we have mentioned previously, Printed in large format, Point d’ironie is published six times per year and distributed through agnès b stores worldwide. It is half magazine and half poster form. McGinley’s photograpy work is the focus of issue #49 which feature a mix of old and new photography placed on the page to represent how they would be seen in a gallery setting. Visit your local Agnes b. shop and pick up a copy sometime around mid December.”

Created by Wieden + Kennedy, the new Levi’s campaign “Go Forth” combines heritage and a sliver of sexiness. Like the Wrangler advertisements we’ve previously featured, the “Go Forth” images were shot by Ryan McGinley. The new spots will run across print, digital and television. Parisian ad agency Fred & Farid just received a Lion D’Or at the Cannes Festival for their ad campaign for Wrangler, which was shot by American photographer Ryan McGinley. We can only say that it was well deserved. The “We Are Animals” campaign looks very impressive, with each image communicating a very strong message and just an indulging overall mood.

Adam Kimmel continues to surprise with his lookbook shoots.
