Incase x Ryan McGinness Capsule Collection

Artist Ryan McGinness explores outer space, the inner space of the mind and as McGinness puts it, “uber fanciness” in his current collaboration with Incase. He has applied his iconic drawings to Incase’s signature cases and bags. Available today, the Ryan McGinness capsule collection uses Incase products as a vessel for delivering the New York-based artist’s work, with a range that includes a 15” Protective Sleeve, Snap Case for iPhone 4S and Shoulder Bag. Created specifically for Incase, the original artwork featured is part of a larger body of work entitled Black Holes.

The Black Holes series is inspired by “event horizons,” the celestial light show that accompanies the collapse of light and matter into a black hole. Concentric patterns depict the theoretical physics of the universe while simultaneously creating mindscape portals to provoke a psychedelic response from the viewer.

The Ryan McGinness capsule collection is available now at goincase.com.

Ryan McGinness 'Recent Paintings' Exhibition at Michael Kohn Gallery

A couple of days ago Ryan McGinness opened his new exhibition at Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition, entitled ‘Recent Paintings’, shows a new body of work of the fine artist. The series mostly consists of fluo colored paintings in different sizes and shapes.

” McGinness is known for his bold and refreshing paintings and installations that layer contemporary iconography to underscore the artist’s commentary on language, history, and symbolism. Re-imagining our world as a series of graphic icons, McGinness layers and collages these images to create complex and sophisticated paintings that shed light on our contemporary world. Boldly colorful and slick, McGinness deftly merges together digital techniques with more traditional crafts like silk screening and painting. Often likened to Andy Warhol, McGinness has developed a unique visual language to reflect on pop culture and the society in which we live.”

After the recent release No Sin/No Future from Gingko Books, the Ryan McGinness publication trend will continue in February.
