Artist Ryan McGinness recently opened his latest exhibition at Deitch Projects in New York, inside their Wooster Street space. McGinness presents new canvas works, as well as numerous new sculptures, using a lot of fluorescent colors and blacklight to highlight the works. Often compared to Andy Warhol, the artist further develops his visual language and signature, and creates impressive artworks, inspired by his dreams and hallucinations. Via Glltn.

After the recent release No Sin/No Future from Gingko Books, the Ryan McGinness publication trend will continue in February. Works Ryan McGinness Works is a book of simple title (and rather long subtitle), focusing on McGinness’ output in sculpture, drawing, painting and sketches. The book includes contributions from some well heeled and well versed scholars and writers – including Peter Halley, director of Graduate Studies in Print and Painting at Yale University. Works will no doubt complement No Sin/No Future, and with 2005’s Installations help to reach a definitive library of the artists output.The book is published by Rizzoli. Ryan McGinness is involved in several interesting projects lately. Just recently we presented to you his collaborative work with Arkitip magazine. Here we show you now the “Growing Handplants” artwork as a skateboard edition. Coming in an edition of 500, the skate deck comes with a screen printed artwork by the artist. The decks are signed and individually numbered by the artist and now available through Iconoclast.

Over the weekend we gave you first look at the fantastic upcoming Arkitip Issue 0048, in collaboration with artist Ryan McGinness. The issue now went on sale, limited to 2000 pieces worldwide.

Above you see the Ryan McGinness chronicle with further information on the issue. It comes packaged in a custom box created by Incase.

“The book titled Aesthetic Comfort is published by Arkitip on the occasion of the Aesthetic Comfort exhibitions in the Fall of 2008. This artist’s book features details of McGinness’ paintings converted to coarse halftones and printed in 4 fluorescent inks: orange, yellow, pink, and green. It will accompany each issue edition, which is packaged in a custom designed box made exclusively for Arkitip by Incase.”
