We already teased you with several videos and images for the exhibition by Huf, DLX and Japanese artist Haroshi. HUF has partnered with Japanese artist Haroshi and Bay Area-based skateboard distributor DLX Distribution on a collaboration that incorporates the clean design aesthetic of HUF, the raw, street-skating principles of DLX, and a combination of both elements represented through the artwork of Haroshi.

The sculptures, that the artist crafts from recycled skateboards are just incredible. For this exhibition he produced a skateboard sculpture, a dog, a guitar, a fire hydrant, the hand and a Spitfure Classic.

As part of his recent website update, UK artist Banksy also presents the ‘Fallen Soldier’ sculpture, a broken antique soldier sculpture with a ‘Caution Wet Floor’ sign standing next to it. While his ‘Cardinal Sin’ sculpture has been unveiled at the Walker Art Gallery, we have not found out yet where this piece of new work is on display, if at all. If you guys know, leave a comment.

After Todd James, next up to work with Toykyo on a porcelain sculpture is artist Steven Harrington. As a three dimensional sculptural evolution of the artist’s “You & I” theme, Steven Harrington’s signature style presents an intricate, yet flowing design piece. This latest porcelain piece creates a dialogue between the sculpture and the viewer where there’s an instant connection between you, the sculpture and the artist. Created in a limited edition of 25, it comes packaged in a wooden box and 5 of the sculptures will be released this week at Parisian concept store colette.

We have always been fans of interesting and new works in the field of wood. Even though it always seems to focus on more traditional looks and outcomes, we especially like this new ‘Duramen Series’ of wooden sculptures by Bonsoir Paris, because it is somewhat a modern interpretation and use of the material. The amount of details and delicate work that is needed to achieve the outcome is very impressive.

“french design duo rémy clémente and morgan maccari of bonsoir paris have designed ‘duramen series’, consisting of three sculptures. for each piece, the shape of a picture frame has been manipulated to a point where it can no longer function as such, but still remains recognizable. the forms have been carved, sanded and finished by hand, out of various types of woods such as oak and fir. the contrast between the natural colors of and textures of the material help define the detailed contours of the carvings.”

More new Banksy work keeps popping up. Today news come in that the British artist has placed the ‘Cardinal Sin’ sculpture at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

“The piece, made in response to the child abuse scandals that the church seems to be known for these days, features a face taken off and replaced by blank bathroom tiles. Banksy noted in a statement, “:I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one.” The sculpture sits next to religious works dated from the 17th Century.”

In an interesting new collaboration Japanese brand NEXUSVII has teamed up with Masa Sculp and with Nuts Art Works. For Holiday 2011 they present the ‘Evil F-Sign’ Sculpture. Overall the sculpture is presented in three colorways and releases at NEXUSVII retailers this week.

A collaboration between BlackRainbow and Artoyz Originals, they have teamed up with legendary graffiti artist Jonone to produce the FLOP vinyl sculpture. The two 15-inch editions of the clear sculpture, are each limited to 100 pieces, come nicely packaged in a clear box for dispplay purposes and are priced at 250 Euros. Jonone’s next exhibition, Throw Up, will open at BlackRainbow Paris on November 25th, 2011.

Pharrell Williams designed a glass sculpture to be exhibited as part of the GLASSTRESS show during the Venice Biennale, starting this week.

““Inside Out” is located at the Berengo Centre for Contemporary Art and Glass in Murano. The sculpture is of 2 angel skeletons. One is just over 6 feet tall and the smaller one flying behind it is about 18 inches. Both were hand made by Berengo Studio in Murano.”
