SeaVees Fall 2010 Footwear

SeaVees has built an interesting collection over the last couple of seasons. The young footwear brand sticks out of the crowd with their easy to wear, high quality shoes.

“The plimsol remains in a variety of Pantone approved colors. The silhouette has also received a nice flannel treatment and been dressed in stonewashed leather. Aside from those, the Buck and 3 Eye Chucka are pretty good.”

Take a closer look at the SeaVees footwear line-up here.

Gitman Brothers for SeaVees Bleeding Madras Plimsoll

Gitman Brothers Vintage x SeaVees Bleeding Madras Plimsoll

SeaVees teamed with Gitman Brothers Vintage to replicate the look of bleeding madras on two colorways of the popular 09/63 Plimsoll. “Bleeding madras is a hand-spun, yarn dyed woven from India, made popular in the 1960s (most notably in S.E. Hinton’s book The Outsiders). Dyes that were not colorfast were used, resulting in bleeding and fading colors that gave the fabric a new, personalized look each time it was laundered. Especially popular in California at the time, shirts were marketed as “guaranteed to fade.” Note: these are pre-faded. Now available from SeaVees.

SeaVees x Pantone Sneakers

06 February 2009, 15.30 | Posted in Sneakers | 1 comment »

seavees pantone sneakers front SeaVees x Pantone Sneakers

SeaVees, Purveyors of California Casual, has announced an exclusive collaboration with Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color. True to their inspiration, each SeaVees style is named to honor an influential date in 1960’s California-cool history. Available Spring 2009, in limited quantities, SeaVees introduces the 09/63.

In September 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone’s founder, created an innovative system for identifying, matching and communicating colors to solve the problems associated with producing accurate color matches in the graphic arts community. His insight that the spectrum is seen and interpreted differently by each individual led to the innovation of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM, a book of standardized color in fan format. Today, the Pantone name is known worldwide as the standard language for accurate color communication, from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer, across a variety of industries. For the discerning taste of the creative class, Pantone is, quite simply, the color bible.

With the creation of the 09/63, SeaVees celebrates the founding of Pantone and the release of the first PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM. For the first time in their 45 year history and through an exclusive agreement, Pantone has allowed an exter nal design team into their hallowed archives. SeaVees cofounders Steven Tiller and Derek Galkin selected seven vintage colors from the original Pantone color guide.

The limited edition 09/63 can be purchased at seavees.com and select retail environments worldwide. Available in both men’s and women’s sizing, this will mark the debut of SeaVees for women. Series production has been restricted to 1,963 pairs.

Have a detailed look at all 7 colorways after the jump.
