Nash x Second Son

Nash x Second Son

We just reported about the UK designer’s collaboration with Lacoste on a pack of footwear and we can already preview another project, this time with fellow UK brand Second Son.

“Second Son and their extended family member Nash Money have finally got around to making a collab. Internationally known for his intricate, hand-sewn custom sneakers, Nash has recently dropped a new shoe designed from scratch for DC and has another coming soon with Lacoste. Meanwhile Second Son have been steadily expanding their range to include a selection of classic cut ‘n’ sew pieces with unusual detailing, but they were originally known for their graphic tees so that’s where the pair decided to begin the collaborative process.

The last few times they worked together led to Nash wearing a fake horse’s head, firing shotguns and getting trapped in the G20 police cordon for six hours (not all at the same time). So for this project they played it safer by staying in the studio and coming up with a collaborative t-shirt design instead. Nash has transferred his signature moccasin cross stitch from sneakers to clothing with a enlarged photographic print that circles the entire hem of the tee, topped off with a collaborative logo crest at the chest pocket. Since Nash magnified his stitching for the design, Second Son shrank him down for their photoshoot to fit in with a selection of his hats, shoes and the tools of his trade. The t-shirt is available now in two colourways: Nash’s trademark electric blue on a white tee and bright teal on black.”

The photoshoot that accompanies the product release came out beautiful and highlights well the t-shirts of the collaboration. It is still great seeing a well developed project based around a tee. They are now available here.

Take a further look after the jump.

Second Son Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
Selectism showcases some of Second Son’s SS10 looks. “The pocket tees are a natural progression from this, utilizing a completely new slimmer cut t-shirt and interesting button-down embroidered fabric on the pockets which make these tee’s both wearable and sartorially versatile. The Oxford shirt appears in a classic blue as well as a light grey, and features unusual tonal paneling on the cuff placket, breast pocket, shoulder yoke and hem…”

Second Son x DURKL Sherlock Hunting Cap

The Capital Collection is a series of collaborations between DURKL and brands from other capital cities around the globe. The collection seeks to incorporate the individuality of each city while staying true to the street culture we all love. Joining forces with London’s Second Son, together they produced the Capital Collection sherlock cap; a 5-panel hunting cap featuring traditional tan houndstooth fabric and interior diamond quilting. Designed in London and produced in America, the package comes complete with a traditional English tobacco pipe.

The cap is now available from Second Son and from DURKL. They also present a video to introduce the collaboration. Check it out here below.

Second Son Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection | The Past Is So Hot Right Now

14 October 2008, 18.30 | Posted in Fashion | 2 comments »

second son autumn winter 2008 delivery 1 1 Second Son Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection | The Past Is So Hot Right Now

We present you the first delivery of one of our favorite UK brands, Second Son, entitled “The Past Is So Hot Right Now”.

“So for this season we’ve updated our particular local heritage with a dash of English humour. Victorian monograms meet modern logos, traditional Scottish Fairisle knitting patterns and traditional English bad weather sit side by side on t-shirts, a heraldic crest boasts high fives and wolves alongside a motto translated by an Oxford University Latin professor (no BS), and brand new designs are So Last Season. Meanwhile Prince meets a bunch of Edwardian musicians for a party as a hand-drawn bird sings Ol’ Dirty Bastard lyrics. It’s not necessarily historically accurate by the way.

Delivery 1 of the A/W ’08 range consists of graphic tees and sweatshirts alongside an updated version of our Regular selvedge denim (back by popular demand) and the new, slightly slimmer and more tapered Stealth jeans (jet black twill denim with black stitching, hidden rivets and dark buttons offset by the purple Second Son logo backpatch and silver logo top button). More cut ‘n’ sew products will follow later in the season.”

Nash Money and Raskitt modelled the collection in a beautiful photoshoot. Have a detailed look at the first delivery of the Second Son Autumn/Winter 2008 collection after the jump.

Second Son Summer ‘08 Collection

11 June 2008, 17.23 | Posted in Denim, Fashion | No comments »

second son summer '08 collection -highsnobiety
London-based brand Second Son (formerly Loki) was born in 2005 with the aim of bringing tight, original graphics and an English sense of humour to the bastions of streetwear in the UK and abroad. The label is sold in stores around the UK and Europe and they’ve now started to sell in the US too.

For the new lookbook they asked Second Son Extended Family™ member and sneaker customiser extraordinaire Nash Money to dust off his fake horse’s head and model their new tees, sweats and jeans (all kicks and hats are the model’s own of course – check www.nashmoney.com).
The Spring/Summer ’08 range inhabits a world where knowledge might be power, but ignorance is bliss. A land where the sword is mightier than the pen and bikini-clad Russian chicks armed with AK-47s pop out of bubble-blowing skulls. A universe where nonexistent animals roam the earth (or at least your t-shirt) and arrows can only kill you once, but pencils strike twice. A realm where we need to cry out against the horrors of ludicrously-dressed new-ravers pretending to miss the 80s.
They’ve also expanded the collection this season to include raw selvedge denim and zip hoodies alongside their usual graphic tees and sweatshirts. The Regular Jeans are available in indigo and black 13.5 oz redline selvedge denim, with embossed logo buttons and rivets and a two-colour back pocket embroidery featuring their signature Weather Pattern logo. Only 100 pairs of each colour are available worldwide and they’re disappearing fast.
The new collection is available now in stores such as Fresh Cotton, Glorias, FlatSpot, Division East and others.
