Silas presents a couple of Christmas specials this year. Next to some jewelry, the most interesting product in the line-up is for sure their collaboration with G-Shock. The classic DW-5600 gets a little camouflage on the dial, some prints on the strap and of course logo on the dial and on the backlight. A release is scheduled for December 2011.

New York City born photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis is currently showing her “This Charming Man” exhibition in Tokyo. The event showcases intimate portraits of men who have inspired the acclaimed artist over the course of three years (2007-2010), where she lived between LA, NYC and London.

The current exhibition is being held at Gallery North Gate, located within Silas & Maria Daikanyama (Silas produced the t-shirts above for the occasion) and will be open to the public from October 22 to November 13. In light of this exhibit, we caught up with Shaniqwa to discuss her work.

For Autumn/Winter 2011 Silas collaborates with KEY (Keep up earth yourself). Hailing from OKAYAMA, KEY focuses on dead-stock military make ups. The collaborative offering features an oxford shirt, made with Italian Army shirt fabric, a Boston Bag in Belgian Army Tent Fabric and a pair of cargo pants made with French Army Tent fabric. The outcome is superb.

London’s Slam City Skates is celebrating its 25th anniversary and with that presents an apparel collection and video lookbook. Next to some in-house apparel, Slam City collaborated with Fergus, Silas and James Jarvis on a couple of pieces. Furthermore they present the ‘City Rats’ trailer, a skate film officially releasing December 2011, featuring many skaters from the Slam City team. Accompanying the collaborative UBIQ, Silas and Jun Watanabe Chukka boots is a full collection of Silas x Jun Watanabe apparel including t-shirts, chinos, button downs, a bag and a watch. Several items include a repeating bird print, while others portray more traditional Jun Watanabe work.

Silas is making moves again and will soon be back in European stores, as we reported earlier this week. Today we present their new Fall/Winter 2011 Collection Lookbook.

As usual the brand offers a series of solid styles, concentrating on fabric and cuts, rather than over-branding their gear. Collaborations this season include shoes with George Cox and a jackets with Snugpak, as well as others.

With Silas making its way back into the European market this season, the brand which is now based in Japan, has collaborated with London’s Slam City Skates on a small capsule collection.

The collection consists of beanies, two t-shirts, a jacket and a waist bag. All pieces feature double branding and come in several colorways. Look out for a release soon at Slam City Skates in London.

For Fall/Winter 2011, Silas gets together with Japanese designer Jun Watanabe and Ubiq to produce a classic Chukka Boot. The boot comes with a special tongue tag and lining print, as well as a Vibram outer sole. It will be available from Silas in October 2011, in two suede colorways.

As part of their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection, Silas has collaborated with Eastpak. They worked on the classic backpack of the brand, giving it a navy nylon upper, beige suede piping and bottom and a tartan front pocket. The backpack will release September 2011, along with their Vans Era collaboration.

As part of their Summer 2011 Collection, Silas has teamed up with Mark Foster from Heroin Skateboards to design a Vans Era. The low top sneaker comes in a solid looking colorway, featuring a Mark Foster designed “Silas” logo embroidered on the heel. Furthermore the sneaker comes with both white cotton laces and brown leather laces. A release is set for mid June 2011.
