Collaborating for the second time, Takashi Hosokawa designed this time a black leather, black suede sneaker with metallic silver swoosh and accents. Also the Dunk Low features a lasered floral pattern across the ankle/heel.

Rumors have been floating around for while, these last couple of days lots of teaser images circulated as well, but one could never really see what the Nike SB “What The Dunk?” shoe looked like and incorporated. Crooked Tongues now got their hands on a pair and took some nice detailed shots.
If this was a regular Nike SB release with no story to it, we would have to go on about how horrible the sneaker looks, because what you see here above is actually one pair of sneakers, not four. The Nike SB “What The Dunk?” is being released to commemorate the release of the first Nike SB movie, Nothing But The Truth. To celebrate this movie, which was 3 years in the making, they created the “What The Dunk?” shoe, which mixes patterns, colors, symbols and logos of the most popular Nike SB sneakers made to date. Looking at it from that perspective, it actually makes it a nice collectors item, just please don’t wear them!
After the jump lots of detailed pictures. Try to guess which sneakers went into this one.

Three years in the making, Nothing But The Truth, is the story of the Nike SB Team, on and off their skateboards. The team did a world tour in October 2006 and created footage on top of that in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California. Skateboarders Paul Rodriguez, Brian Anderson, Gino Ianucci, Stefan Janoski, Omar Salazar, Ched Childress, Reese Forbes, Todd Jordan, Daniel Shimizu, Danny Supa, Wiege Van Wageningen, Lance Mountain and amateurs Grant Taylor, Lewis Marnell, Dan Murphy and Clark Hassler teamed up with Belgian director duo Lionel Goldstein to tell the whole truth, Nothing But The Truth.
Think Skate Film rather than Skate Video. The team was given carte blanche to pitch their story. In the story line skaters would write and direct a “film” about a truth in their lives.
Scheduled for release to authorized Nike SB retailers October 27th, and for general release on November 23rd, Nothing But The Truth, Nike SB’s first full length film, will premier in Los Angeles tonight, at the Kodak Theater, with a world tour to follow, including the European premier in London on October 16th at The Royal Festival Hall.
Here below now a preview of the film and after the jump some more pictures for you to check out!

The other day we presented you the limited edition sneakers out of the Lakai Holiday 2007 collection. Today we give you a look at another special series that will be releasing this season – The Strike Force Series.
World War II planes were often painted by unknown artists or the pilots themselves and became iconic among Air Squadrons. Not only did the paint give the plane more strength it was also a way to camouflage them from visual radar at the time. With the Strike Force Series Lakai wants to pay tribute to the artistic expression of the aviation fathers.
Check out all 4 sneakers that are part of the series in detail after the jump.

Taka Hayashi grew up skateboarding, and began to draw at a very early age. His talent is undeniable, and his artistic style reflects his unique journey. Born in Japan, and then transplanted to Santa Monica, CA in 1983, he grew up during one of the definitive periods of modern street skateboarding. Taka hung out at a local skate shop on 5th and Broadway, taking inspiration from the Venice pros that were regulars in the shop. The 80s skate culture and vibrant art scene had its impact. For this Vans Holiday Core collection Taka designed an incredibly detailed signature series–each design is inspired by the rider’s unique style. Using a variety of different techniques and materials, his art is strikingly reproduced on the new Rowley “Shambles”, the AV Sk8 Low, the DD-66, and the TNT III Slip-On. This is an exclusive product for style-conscious skateboarders.
Expect the Vans x Taka Hayashi Pack to be available this Holiday 2007 season!
