As promised here are some detailed looks at the new Nike MAG “McFly” sneakers as launched today in Los Angeles. 1500 pairs.
Why it has taken the Nike MAG as long as it has to surface outside the world of the silver screen looks has everything with making it special and connecting it to a very good cause. The launch is well tied to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Proceeds from the sale of the MAG go directly towards Mr. Fox’s Parkinson’s research foundation.

The Nike Lunar Presto Rejuven8 ranks highly on a very short list of successful hybrid sneakers. That is, mating the Presto and Rejunven8 over a Lunarlite sole results in a comfortable, lightweight piece of footwear that actually doesn’t look half bad. The latest colorway to surface is the above black and orange, which can be found at Foot Lockers in the UK.

hanon offers a detailed look at their new Asics GT-II collab dubbed Northern Liites.
Our approach to this style was inspired by the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis, a natural light phenomenon that occurs at night throughout the Winter in the northern hemisphere. For those lucky enough to see it, the dark skies are transformed from black to a multicoloured light show.
The initial northern lights idea stemmed from the familiar Asics tiger claw stripes on the upper and how well we felt they would suit the concept. From there we applied an upper to reflect the night sky and some additional details to complete the theme. The shoe make up is a mix of premium suede, full grain leather, air flow mesh and scotchlite overlays. The multicoloured tiger claw stripes depict the ribbons of light created by the aurora borealis whist varying grades of black to white on the upper reflect the dark sky.
Some additional features to the shoe include a scotchlite application to the tiger stripes, a night sky heel counter and translucent panel on the outsole.
Lastly, the woven hanon ‘Keeps On Burning’ label celebrates our 20th anniversary and is inspired by the imagery and slogans of Northern Soul, a musical following born out of the north of england in the late sixties. Much like the sneaker enthusiasts of today, we liked the connection of the passionate collector whether it be a rare 45 or that pair of kicks that can’t be found.
The release date for the Northern Liites is Saturday April 10th 2010 at hanon, with a global release on April 17th at selected doors.

The first Undefeated for Converse Poorman Weapon shoe launched exactly one year ago today, January 24, 2009, in black. It was then followed-up with an olive version in May 2009 as UNDFTD’s celebration of US Armed Forces Day. This is the third installment of the shoe in navy that features the same bomber jacket nylon upper, removable velcro logos and orange lining. Again, the midsole carries an UNDFTD logo and the overall look is perfect. This time around the sneaker is accompanied by both a matching MA-1 Flight Jacket and Flight Helmet Bag.

Hybrids have, for better or worse, become a staple of the sneaker market. Thanks to Kixandthecity, we’ve got a look at the samples for the Nike Air Hoop Structure. As the name implies, the shoe is a basketball make up of the classic Nike Air Structure Triax ‘91. While the typical hybrid has crossed a two designs from a single type, this breaks a mold generating a basketball shoe from a runner. The sole has been modified, the heel counter raised, but at essence the Air Structure Triax sings through. Classic colors, like the above infrared, have also been employed.

The classic make-ups of Nike runners are, for obvious reasons, the most exciting. They have an understated quality that reflects the design — important when the over done colorway so often removes original context, these were (after all) cutting edge. Size? drops the Varsity Blue colorway of the Air Max Light. Clean, simple. As close to perfect as we’ll get today.

Hot on the heels of critically acclaimed original releases by The Crystal Method, LCD Soundsystem and Aesop Rock, DJ/producer A-Trak joins forces with Nike to launch his debut record Running Man: Nike+ Original Run as the next release for the Nike+ Original Run Series. The Montreal native produced this 45-minute composition specifically for runners, gradually building from a warm-up period, incorporating an extended middle section that finds a pavement-pounding groove, and ending with a downtempo closure for cooling down. A highlight from the beginning segment, “Say Whoa,” will serve as A-Trak’s inaugural artist single, offered exclusively by Nike Sport Music. The mix also features a show-stopping appearance by recently hyped Fool’s Gold signee Kid Cudi. The original mix is part of the run-up to The Nike+ Human Race, the world’s largest one-day running event. On August 31, 2008, an expected one million runners in 25 cities across the globe will partake in a 10k that combines the power of running and music through sport and also gives participants the chance to run for a cause and support charities who have a positive impact on the world. At 45 minutes long, Running Man: Nike+ Original Run is ideal background music for runners looking to mix things up while training for the event. The fourth installment of the Nike+ Original Run series, A-Trak’s Running Man: Nike+ Original Run is available exclusively in the Nike Sport Music section of the iTunes Store.
***In celebration of the release we are happy to offer the opportunity to win an exclusive pair of dunks designed by A-Trak, at the Nike ID studio. Check out a video of that here.
