KangaROOS x Sneakerness

Some of you might remember the KangaROOS sneaker brand from your childhood. The brand kind of disappeared in the mid 90s, but now the sneaker exhibition Sneakerness got together with them to work on the Slam Dunk and the Game high top sneakers. The sneakers come in white and black, carrying both Sneakerness and KangaROOS branding and of course the infamous kangaroo logo on the side. For now it is not clear when and where the sneakers will release, but we will keep you posted. The sneakers are limited to 80 pairs and should be dropping in the near future.

Detailed images of the KangaROOS x Sneakerness Collaboration Sneakers follow after the jump.

A while back we reported about the new Swiss sneaker show Sneakerness. Lots of great projects had been completed for the event, including the Nike x Plus41 x Grotesk Air Force 1 and the Double Goose x Art Force One pack. Today we show you the new Grand x Sneakerness Collection, a small capsule clothing line that of course evolves around the topic of sneakers.

Of course we have seen endless t-shirts and graphics that play with the sneaker theme. Nevertheless Zurich store Grand and Sneakerness did it a little different. The all cut-and-sew collection consists of jackets, hoodies and t-shirts for both men and women. Laces have been incorporated in almost all pieces, including the t-shirts. The outcome is certainly interesting. Also all pieces have a lace lock incorporated that can be taken off and added to your sneakers. All in all a clever collection around the topic of sneakers.

Plus41 x Grotesk Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke For Sneakerness ‘09

For this years Sneakerness event in Zürich, Nike invited the two Swiss artists and designers Grotesk and +41 to create an exclusive and unique pair of sneakers with NikeiD Bespoke. Two iconic shoes served as inspiration for the design – the Air Jordan 3 and the Air Jordan Sky High. The result, the NikeiD Bespoke designed by +41 and Grotesk, will be on display the first time ever during the Sneakerness on May 9th 2009 in Zürich.

With tons of possibilities when creating a Nike iD Bespoke they decided to take an honest and simple design approach. This in many ways is sympathetic of the existing design elements: One example is the 3 red laces rings referring to those of the AJ3. The shoe itself is well balanced just right with a choice of colors that are very subtle. Both designers felt strongly that they wanted to design a shoe more classical, more elegant and referential to what they would really like to wear, going deep into the design detail using simplicity without using and abusing the many colors and materials that are available.

If you want to see the sneaker live, make sure to make your way out to Zürich this weekend. The event takes place on May 9th at Schiffbau. Sneakerness will serve as a platform to sell and trade sneakers, with lots of exciting things going on around the event, including exhibitions, artist appearances, Nike iD studio, and an afterparty with Bobbito Garcia and DJ Clark Kent. All the info you need to know about the event can be found here.

Now take a more detailed look at the Plus41 x Grotesk Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke For Sneakerness ‘09 after the jump.
