For the Holiday 2010 season, 686 continues their exclusive partnership with Levi’s on both men’s and women’s outerwear.

We’ve taken real denim and denim-inspired fabrications to new technical heights in an array of jacket and pant ensembles. Our custom 686® x Levi’s® products feature 686’s waterproof/breath- able attributes with Levi’s® details like contrast stitching accents, shank buttons, metal rivets and the infamous patented back pocket “arcuate” (pronounced Ar-q-it) stitching and red tab combination, all of which have never been done before.

Rad Collector had a first look at this Bob Marley board back in February, but today Burton has officially announced their collaborative Marley & Co Whammy Bar Snowboard.

Key features of the new Whammy Bar Marley board include a simulated wood-grain topsheet layered with a series of classic photos from Bob Marley’s family archives. The images reflect his love for family, music and life. In addition, the base of the board features a powerful graphic showcasing the traditional Lion of Judah integrated with the colors of the Rasta flag and Burton branding.

Available this season as part of the Burton Restricted collection.

New Balance showed the latest release in their ongoing collaboration with 686 at Agenda Huntington Beach. On offer are both sneakers and snowboard boots in 3 complimentary color packs, as well as 3 exclusive hightop colors in the V74 – a vulcanized version of the iconic 574. Disney announces a collaborative line of products inspired by their forthcoming 3D adventure, TRON: Legacy. The first piece we can show you is from Burton Snowboards. “Inspired by the story’s strong graphic look and feel, the Burton boot is made to look like something out of the future, yet seen through the eyes of a snowboarder back in 1982 when the first film released.” Available this winter at select Burton dealers. TRON: Legacy hits theaters December 17, 2010 in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D.

Selectism puts us onto Gentemstick Snowboards. “Japanese designer and inveterate snowboarder Taro Tamai has been hand-shaping his eye-catching Gentemstick boards for over a decade. An answer to the homogenization of board shapes that happened as snowboarding gained mainstream appeal, Tamai’s goal is no less than to “perfectly blend into the terrain miraculously made of snow and wind, just as if birds flying in the sky or fish flowing in the stream.” The upshot of his philosophical approach to the sport (he calls it snow-surfing) is a line of boards renowned for their flexible fins, oversized sized fish tails and rideability in almost any snow condition.”

Nike Snowboarding’s Aries 2010 project celebrates the history of snowboarding. Tim Brodhagen caught up with all the principals involved in the exhibition (Michael Hernandez, Trevor Graves, and Terry Kidwell) to get the full scope. Rad Collector has the jump on a limited edition Super Nova Box from 686 and Levi’s. “Right on the heels of their massive Super Nova box with New Balance, 686 has dropped another one, this time with their denim partner Levi’s. Ten special collabo boxes were made and stuffed with their 3-ply raw denim technical snowboard pant collabo turned up with neon orange and turquoise accents. The entire 686 x Levi’s collection is available now at select dealers.”

StepChild Snowboards gets their own colorway of Thirtytwo’s classic Lashed boot in celebration of the new 32/SC video entitled “This Video Sucks”. You can watch the flick in it’s entirely over at StepChildSnowboards.com, where part 7 of 7 (with the legendary JP Walker) just went live. The boots are now available at select Thirtytwo accounts.

To accompany their collaborative snowboard boot, Vans and Airblaster got together on a water resistant Era. The “Stay Wild” Era features an all-black upper with a bright pink top eyelet and teal lining alongside Airblaster logo placements. Perfect for those slushy days in the parking lot. Earlier this year we gave you a look into a new brand called ISAORA, who are producing hi-end, snowboard inspired apparel. The debut collection presented a very impressive range, blending technical materials with stylish cuts and attractive color options. For spring we see a slightly more adventurous approach with red and plaid palettes in the line, though the patterns and colors are still much more subdued than what we’re used to seeing from the usual suspects in snowboarding. In other words, we like this.
