This past month at International Snow Sports Tradeshows, Pirelli Pzero and Burton gave the snowboard industry a sneak peek of their new collaboration for the Winter 2012-2013 season. The focal piece in the collaboration is the 2013 Burton Ion snowboard boot featuring a Pirelli outsole, which will be available worldwide next fall. In addition to the boot, Pirelli worked with Burton on an exclusive snowboard and binding, which will only be available next fall at the Pirelli Corso Venezia store in Milan, Italy.

The star of this joint effort is the 2013 Burton Ion boot. One of Burton’s most legendary boot models, the Ion only gets better in 2013 with the addition of an exclusive new outsole created in collaboration with Pirelli. Taking advantage of the company’s experience in tyre manufacturing, Pirelli has created an exclusive rubber compound for Burton built specifically around the demands of riding that includes a snow tyre-inspired tread designed for superior traction. The top-of-the-line Ion boot also features Burton’s ‘Total Comfort’ technology, so the boot is designed to be super comfortable and high-performing from day one out of the box.

In addition, Pirelli and Burton have created a very limited edition snowboard and binding that will only be sold in the Pirelli Corso Venezia in Milan beginning in the fall of 2012. Both the snowboard and binding feature Pirelli’s distinctive gold and black accents, which were inspired by the daredevil and glamorous world of 1970s motorsports.

We have seen so many collaborate with Star Wars and sometimes it certainly feels like an overload. After adidas, Bape, Moleskine, Medicom and many others, Burton is now also joining the party. One thing is for sure, we feel more comfortable having a Stormtrooper plastered all over our snowboard, than a t-shirt or a sneaker.

They present their Chopper snowboard in a series of iconic Star Wars designs. The board comes in all sizes, and there are overall 8 Star Wars artworks to choose from, featuring the most iconic characters of the movie series. A release date has not been announced yet, but we will keep you posted.

In an interesting new collaboration Burton has collaborated with the Hudson’s Bay Company on a snowboard. The Burton x Hudson’s Bay Company board graphic is based on the HBC’s trademark multistripe point blanket and is now available here.

Daylife has collaborated with Stussy on a “XXX” 30th anniversary snowboard. The board comes with the 30th anniversary graphic and will release with a matching soft case.

After a preview a while ago, we can show you the entire Married to the MOB x Burton Fall/Winter 2010 Collection. The line consists of several jackets, pants, as well as accessories, including a beanie and gloves. Of course the collection also includes a snowboard.

In a market that is full of mens brands, Married to the MOB is the only one or at least one of the very few womens brands that seems to manage to sneak in on a regular basis to set a tone for the girls. Today we give you a first look at their upcoming collaboration with Burton for this coming Fall/Winter 2011 season.

Rome SDS presents some great new snowboard for the 2011 season, with the “Last Supper” Agent Rocker board from the Addictive Collection being one of the stand-out models.

“Featuring all the notable celebs that kicked the bucket last year from Billy Mays to Patrick Swayze and DJ AM and with Michael Jackson as the centerpiece, this board proves nothing is sacred in snowboarding.”

Rad Collector puts us on to Burton’s latest Vapor featuring a graphic derived from a collaborative Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat piece. “The board itself is once again NASA-grade tech, dipped in $1200 worth of Vaporskin Lite, and the shred stick that is going to win Kevin Pearce a gold medal at the Olympics in Vancouver.” This collector’s item is now available at Burton flagship stores in LA, NY, Chicago, and Burlington.

Graphic designer Art Chantry, best known for his work with bands such as Nirvana and Hole, teamed up with Ride on a limited release DH2 board. Graphics aside, this board is the business. With no hook and tons of pop, it was selected as one of the “Platinum Picks” in Snowboard Mag for 2010. Available from November 1st at core Ride dealers worldwide. (Rad Collector)

Each season Monument Snowboard’s Creative Director, Christopher Glancy curates an ever-growing pedigree of artists to create site-specific art and deliver the highest quality product on the market. This season they worked with SSUR, Rammellzee, Bjorn Copeland, Richard Colman, and Kelsey Brookes. Each artist created a snowboard for the 2009-2010 season, with the exception of SSUR, who actually created 3 snowboards. The range is very impressive and definitely worth considering this season, if you need a new board.
