Nike and the popular online soccer lifestyle blog/brand, Bumpy Pitch, have teamed up for a second time in these rivalry themed tees. Four tees were created to represent two teams from the NFL and two more from the NBA. Inspired by rivalry, namely soccer rivalry between the MNT’s of the United States/Mexico, BP selected the most storied NBA rivalry with the Celtics and Lakers; and for the NFL teams, they selected the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders. These are available now through Bumpy Pitch, as well as select BP and Nike retailers.

Nike unveiled its Cristiano Ronaldo CR7 collection today and here is a look at what it all contains. Its a blend of performance and casual with a lot of tasteful pieces. Highlights include the grey M-65 jacket, organic cotton striped tees, an AW77 hoody, a CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III in a nice colorway and a shoe that took some time to acquire a liking for, the Nike5 Street Gato.

Umbro has launched a limited edition lifestyle capsule collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its iconic football boot, the Speciali.

The Speciali has stayed true to Umbro’s football boot ethos throughout its 20 years with style, fit and comfort being at the very core of its design. These attributes that the Speciali has built its status upon, including the premium soft leather, have gone into creating the five-piece limited edition Speciali 92 range.

Speciali 92 is a crafted, premium leather range, which celebrates the iconic past of the Speciali boot through Umbro’s contemporary English football tailoring lens.

The hero piece within the range is Umbro’s classic silhouette, the Anthem Jacket, which has been put through a Speciali filter, offering a fusion of two iconic pieces of sportswear. The jacket is crafted from soft leather and the lining features a digital print, which details key Speciali moments. The Anthem Jacket is available in limited numbers of only 92.

Furthermore the collection includes the Milton lifestyle shoe, limited to 1992 pairs. The Speciali ’92 Pro Boot is aesthetically inspired by the original 1992 Speciali and has been brought up to date with modern innovations for today’s game. A soft leather weekend bag and a leather ball, both made in limited numbers of 92, make up the five-piece collection.

Sophnet sub brand F.C.R.B. (FC Real Bristol) is known for their affiliation with soccer. As part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection the brand will be releasing a fun accessory – the soccer ball cushion. The cushion comes in black and white and releases later this season.

This weekend the first in a series of global adiCup’s went down. The US creative scene got together to compete at the competition, with the winners flying to adidas headquarters to play against the winners of the other city cups in the final. The winners from the 2006 adiCup, the Diner Old Boys, took the trophy home again this year.

The event looked like a lot of fun, with DJ Neil Armstrong spinning and a huge crowd coming out to watch the matches.

Today we attended a press conference for the launch of adidas‘ Official Match Ball for the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Entitled “Jo’Bulani”, the ball is a unique gold-colored version of the South African-inspired “Jabulani”, which pays tribute to the host city of Johannesbury or Jo’burg (the City of Gold) through its name and colorway. The adidas Jo’Bulani will be available at retail from April 20th onwards.

Another interesting artistic collaboration has evolved around the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II soccer boot. This time the sportswear giant commissioned photographer Sølve Sundsbø.

At a global media event featuring footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in London, Nike today unveiled the Mercurial Vapor SuperFly II, a lightweight boot featuring a new, unique adaptive traction system designed for explosive acceleration. The Mercurial Vapor SuperFly II features a reengineered upper for enhanced fit and ball control for fast feet. The vibrant ultra-violet color boosts visibility on the pitch. The outcome is not only a well designed soccer shoe, but also a high performance sports shoe.

“Next-generation Nike Flywire technology incorporated into the boot’s streamlined upper provides a lightweight, strong and more dynamic fit. The carbon composite tuned chassis provides a lightweight platform with traction elements and allows players to stay closer to the ground.”

Puma worked with artist Kehinde Wiley on their v1.10 i FG soccer shoes. The artist gave the shoe a black/yellow upper, featuring extensive graphics. The soccer shoe is now available, limited to 302 pieces, online and in-store.

It seems like some folks are getting ready for an upcoming soccer tournament. The collaborative brand between Sophnet and Nike, F.C.R.B., got together as part of their Fall/Winter 2008 collection with Visvim’s F.I.L., Fragment Design and Honeyee on a series of soccer gear. Included in the line-up is a parka jacket, shorts, jerseys and longsleeve jerseys. Pieces come in both black on black camouflage and brown.

Adidas teamed up with the Chinatown Soccer Club, a collective that formed during the first installment of the three-stripes’ “Fanatic Tournament” around photographer Peter Sutherland and they worked on a limited edition lifestyle soccer boot called the Top Sala. It comes in black with red details and their logo is featured in gold.
The low-run (350 were made in total) sneaker, will be reserved for retail spots like Dave’s Quality Meat (NYC), Arkitip (LA) and Stil Laden (Vienna, Austra) and will release early June. Via Complex.

For their latest Quickstrike release, Nike have collaborated with infamous football club FC St. Pauli. The club has somewhat of a special standing in World football, not necessarily because of its performance, but becase of its rebel character. This rebel character has been clearly translated into the Quickstrike Dunk Hi.The Dunk Hi comes in black, featuring nice details, including prints and tags. Also the materials have been well chosen, including premium leathers, suede and oestrich on the swoosh. The Dunk Hi is limited to 500 Pairs Worldwide.
