To help usher in their all-new cycling-inspired footwear offering, the Zeitfrei, leading sportswear company adidas has aligned itself with two well-known entities in the sneaker and street culture realm. Men’s centric streetwear and fashioned-based website Hypebeast and popular Berlin-based sneaker boutique Solebox have both been brought on board to each design their very own version of the Zeitfrei. The shoes, which will debut later this month, include an added bonus with the inclusion of exclusive one-off complete show bikes on behalf of famed Italian bike company Bianchi, that match the aesthetics of each respective Zeitfrei design.

From a technical standpoint, the Zeitfrei features low-profile construction. Various technical elements have been incorporated into the shoe’s design knowing full well the necessary traits that riders require every time they set out into the streets. The shoe’s perforated upper allows for ventilation in addition to having a reflective layer beneath to allow for a minimalistic and subdued yet functional design, which can offer performance properties when required. The same reflective material is also seen ever so slightly hidden via mesh on the heel. Additional reflective materials are seen on the embossed heel logo and as a stripe around the foxing band. The laces can be neatly and safely tucked away into a neoprene pocket which also houses the logos for both Hypebeast and Solebox. In this particular release, the suede tongue features a laser-etched number to denote the shoe’s particular place among the 100 total pairs produced.

With each partner releasing their own final product exclusively through their own mediums, the shoes will begin their release over a one week period starting on Saturday, May 23rd at Solebox (in-store only). Hypebeast (online only) will launch their version the following week on Friday, May 29th at http://store.hypebeast.com. As an added bonus, Solebox has included an SKS Solebox Air Champ Pro Air Pump with the sale of each pair of shoes. Hypebeast and their retail package includes a cycling cap, Cordura messenger bag and a carry-all sling bag. Only 50 pairs will be available for retail with another 50 pairs being sent to friends & family.

The special one of a kind Bianchi bicycles will be made available for showing throughout Bianchi outlets following the sale of the shoes. At the conclusion of the tour, the bikes will be auctioned off for charity.

Thanks to Crookedtongues we get a first detailed look at the upcoming collaboration of Berlin sneaker store Solebox and Vans, on the Oldskool. The sneaker features a Yashmagh check pattern inspired upper and a dove print on the tongue. The Solebox logo only appears on the inner sole.

Yesterday the Solemart event by Solebox took place in Berlin. Sneaker collectors from Germany and all over Europe came out to buy and trade sneakers. A lot of sneaker brands also participated in the event, including Lacoste, adidas, New Balance, Reebok and asics, all showcasing old classics, stand-out collaborations and upcoming collections to the sneaker enthusiasts.

We took some time out to sit down with Hikmet of Solebox. As usual the Berlin sneaker empire has lots going on and in the next couple of weeks some exciting projects will be released. Their Solemart event for sneaker enthusiasts returns and big plans are made for the future. Furthermore Solebox will be releasing their much anticipated Puma R698 collaboration. Their last Reebok featured an orange scent, the new Puma feature light-up laces. As you can see, it never gets boring!

We are getting closer to the release of the Puma x Solebox R698. Soon we can give you a more detailed look at the much anticipated sneaker that features some pretty innovative features. Until then, check out the video above!

Today we get a closer look at the upcoming Solebox x Rimowa Cabin Trolley IATA suitcase, which seems to be part of the upcoming Solebox x Pro-Keds project. The suitcase comes in early indestructible polycarbonate, which returns to its original shape as soon as the pressure is released. Only 25 of these cases have been produced. More news on the release very soon.

Solebox has cooked up yet another collaboration, this time with Vans. The Berlin sneaker store worked on the Oldskool and gave it a checkered black/white look, similar to the classic Keffiyeh scarfs. The lining is red and matches the stripe on the mid-sole. Limited to only 60 pairs worldwide, the sneaker will be relesed May 2nd.

We can give you a first preview of the upcoming collaboration of Berlin based sneaker store Solebox with New Balance on the 1500. Once again they chose a solid combination of suede and mesh, this time going with green and red accent colors on the heel. Overall both sneakers keep their clean and classic looks, which is much appreciated.

The new Solebox x New Balance 1500 Pack is supposed to come out some time this summer. Detailed images of both colorways follow after the jump.

Puma has teamed up with German Sneaker retailer Solebox to create the limited edition of the iconic 80’s runner; the R698.

Sharing the same tooling as the Disc Blaze, the R698 is an expansion of PUMA’s Trinomic technology collection that was first introduced in the early 1980’s. This shoe is made out of soft suede overlays and lightweight athletic mesh panels. The special colourway of the R698 Solebox in white/steel gray/black with a slash of vivid colour pops in florescent pink and blue atoll, setting it off in all the right places and brings us back to that unforgettable decade.

The crew at Solebox added a special highlight, flashing laces in vibrant blue which start to blink when the shoe is moving.

Only a limited amount of pairs of this must-have-item were exclusively made for Solebox and are available beginning April 18th only at the Solebox Store in Berlin.

Here you get a first look. Later this week we should be able to provide a closer look at the sneaker, as well as at the flashing laces.

After presenting you the upcoming Solebox x Reebok collaboration yesterday, we have another interesting project by the German sneaker store to present you. They worked with German high end metal luggage brand Rimowa on the IATA Cabin Trolley.

“Made of polycarbonat like used on airplane windows. Strong and light. The lid is clear polycarbonat. The back black polycarbonat and as color tips we used red zippers.”

The Solebox trolley will be released in 2009 along with a special project – read with a new sneaker collaboration!
