Adding their footprints to the now well-trodden path that is the boat shoe, Soulland presents a colorful, premium make-up of the seemingly must-have silhouette. Featured in a wine-like purple with green accents or a two-tone navy and red, the Scandinavian brand offers a supple suede take on the deck shoe. A somewhat turned up toe looks to be a unique detail, perhaps aiding in a more comfortable walking experience over longer distances than, say, the deck of a boat. Get yours from Norse Projects.

In most part of the world you will find streetwear brands and you will find high fashion. Producing a collection that fuses the two and more importantly giving your brand the continues image in public of being based in both of these worlds is very difficult. For some reason we mostly find Scandinavian brands managing this balance act well. Wood Wood and Henrik Vibskov come to mind and also a smaller and less established Danish brand – Soulland. We have watched the label for a couple of years now, met the designers and the line becomes more progressive with every season, but does not forget about its roots.

The Soulland Summer 2009 Collection has been released. T-Shirts, jackets, chinos, shirts and more make up the line. Except for some graphic t-shirts, the rest of the collection consists of some smart cut-and-sew items in subtle colors and interesting, as well as innovative cuts. Soulland is a small Danish brand to keep an eye on. With streetwear roots, the brand is going through a transition these past couple of seasons and slowly makes their way into a more high end market, similar to what we have seen from brands such as Wood Wood.
This Spring/Summer 2008 season they present strong cut & sew which is still do to be released, but also nice t-shirts and crewneck sweaters, which are now already available at Norse. Make sure to check them out!

Danish brand Soulland has now released some accessories as part of their Holiday 2007 collection. The knitwear has been produced in the US and consists of two beanies and some gloves. 7Inch now offers all three pieces in their newly launched online store.

Soulland, a rather young label, is slowly starting to make bigger moves in the market. The label, which is based in Copenhagen, has strong locals that inspire. With Wood Wood and Henrik Vibskov, two of the most recognized labels out of Denmark, Soulland is in good company.
Thus when you look at the labels development you also do see a trend towards more individuality and sophistication. When you still had the impression the label was taking the regular streetwear route with printed t-shirts and hoodies, in recent collections the brand has shown that there is much more to them. We see them in the future take a position in the market such Wood Wood, a mix of streetfashion and high-end fashion or maybe you just want to call it taylored streetfashion.
