In a fantastic move, Danish brand Soulland has teamed up with the Danish Post Service and produced a national stamp. The collaboration is both out of the ordinary and impressive. The video above shows the process behind the collaboration and production of the stamp. Enjoy!

After having reported from the Wood Wood and Henrik Vibskov shows in Copenhagen, we finish our coverage with Soulland. Inspired by the American Civil War, the Danish brand presents their Fall/Winter 2011 “Civilized” Collection. Nice colors and styles are mixed with solid outerwear, including a collaborative varsity jacket with House of Billiam and a beautiful fur leather jacket. As usual the styles look clean and simple, yet all feature lots of special details.

The Soulland Autumn/Winter 2011 collection is inspired by the American Civil War. Soulland designer Silas speaks on the collection:

“For the autumn/winter 2011 collection we studied the uniforms of the soldiers who fought the civil war and the flags they served under. We were particularly inspired by the portraits of the time and the sense of honor in the soldiers that comes across in the portraits”.

For the collection we also studied the details of the soldiers’ pockets and collars, and without making uniforms we worked to convert the details into modern menswear. There were many different levels of status in the troops and their clothing showed where in society they belonged. We especially looked at the hobo soldiers, their layering has served as a great inspiration throughout the development of the collection.”

Danish brand Soulland continues to produce interesting hats, mashing up modern and classic styles. Their new Krath Baseball Hat for Spring/Summer 2011 does exactly that and is once again produced by hand in Denmark. It is now in stock at Opening Ceremony (storeguide).

Our friends from Danish brand Soulland are getting ready to open their first store. Of course the shop will open its doors in their hometown Copenhagen. House in a former porn store, the “U.S. Import” sign has been hanging above the door for years and so the brand decided to leave it there and also call the store after it.

Next to their own brand, the store will also carry Ann Sofie Back, Stine Goya, Pendleton Woolen Mills, House of Billiam, Libertine-Libertine and much more. Look out for the official opening on November 13th.

Among our favorite pieces from the new Soulland Fall/Winter 2010 Collection is the Norwegian Knit pieces. The brand presents ponchos and sweaters with the classic patterns, each coming in several colorways. Even though a poncho might be hard to pull off as a guy, we like the idea of it, the comfort and especially the practicability. Both the sweaters and ponchos are now in stock at Soto Berlin.

Copenhagen’s Soulland enters the Spring/Summer 2011 seasons with a great array of footwear. Suede chukka boots and shoes are complemented by waxed leather laces and lightweight soles. Both easy to wear and more eye-catching colors will be available come SS11.

During our stay in Paris we took  a closer look at the accessories to come out for Spring/Summer 2011 from Danish brand Soulland. We have been big fans of their hats for a while and for next season they will be introducing some new ones, while expanding the color line-up of the current styles. Also they presented some solid suede pouches with subtle embossed branding. The footwear is another interesting expansion by the brand, with the above canvas/leather mid top boot being our favorite.

In a nice and clean galllery setting, Danish brand Soulland presented their new Spring/Summer 2011 Collection in Paris this weekend. We especially liked the upcoming jackets, shirts, footwear and accessories of the line, which smartly mixes a heritage/hunting theme with Scandinavian design elements and cuts. Certainly something you can look out for next year.
