MinuSkull Speakers by Kuntzel + Deygas

Paris design duo Kuntzel + Deygas presents their latest creation – the MinuSkull speakers. Once again they fuse great design with superior engineering and present an overall great product.

“MinuSkull is a design object made for a high-quality sound experience at home or in the office. Its extraordinary Hi-Fi system creates a perfect sound without any distortion, even when the volume is very low. MinuSkull can be connected to any source of sound (Ipod, mp3, computer, …).

Technical components inside the skull. Two broadband Fostex Fe-83 speakers with a membrane made out banana leaf pulp (the eyes). A mini subwoofer for a large and natural restitution. We have chosen a tailor-made speaker (made in France), which lies underneath the skull. A tailor-made Mosfet amplifier that allows a transparent and dynamic quality of listening without using an additional amplifier.

MinuSkull is expandable : this speaker can be used alone or as a duet in order to improve the stereo effect. Using 5 MinuSkulls creates the basis of a Home Cinema Sound System (a subwoofer should be added in this case).”

Handcrafted in France, the MinuSkull speakers come in three different design options – walnut wood and black or white piano lacquer. They have a delivery time of 4-6 weeks, are priced at 1′600 Euros and can be ordered here.

bose bluetooth speaker Bose SoundLink Mobile Bluetooth Speaker
The Bose SoundLink Mobile builds on the company’s SoundDock program, but ditches the physical dock in favor of Bluetooth streaming (meaning it works with iPhones AND other devices too). Measuring about the size of a hardcover book, the dock can be customized with either a leather or nylon lid that folds back to double as a stand. The battery will run for eight hours at reasonable levels and less if you blast the chunes. If you know Bose, you know the sound will be big.

Nixon Introduces Portable Speakers

In their upcoming collection Nixon will be introducing two types of portable speakers. The brand, best known for their lifestyle watches, has in the meantime become an all encompassing accessories company.

The speakers are the new addition to their already existing audio program. They present The Block speakers, a smart little set of two speakers, folding into a square box on the go. They come in black and white and can be charged via USB. While The Block is still nice to use in the office, the TPS speaker is even more portable and intended for people that are a lot on the move, yet it still offers a solid audio experience.

Take a further look at the upcoming Nixon speakers after the jump.

Nashmoney Sneaker Speakers

Nashmoney Sneaker Speakers

As part of the Inspired Ingenuity competition by Havana Club, Nashmoney, known for his well executed sneaker customizations, created the above sneaker speakers.

The competition is taking place over the first six months of 2011, challenging artists, musicians and other creative talents to takes the everyday and turn it into something special. A winner will be picked each month, and the final winner will win a trip to Cuba.

To help promote the competition, Intercity commissioned three artists to create a piece of work that takes the everyday and turns it into something special – and as we see sneaker customisation as its own form of Inspired Ingenuity, Nash was an obvious choice as one of those artists. The result is a fully working Nike Air Force 1 sneakers turned into a set of speakers.

Check them out in detail after the jump.

Jawbone JAMBOX Wireless Speaker

Jawbone JAMBOX Intelligent Wireless Speaker by fuseproject
After 5 consecutive best-seller bluetooth headsets, Jawbone and fuseproject announce a new product: the JAMBOX intelligent wireless speaker and speakerphone.

JAMBOX redefines how people can connect with all of their audio devices as well as creates new use cases. JAMBOX is about cutting the wires that literally bind conventional devices together with the ability to seamlessly stream and share music, movies, games, phone and conference calls anywhere.

Using principles of minimalist design, less parts and simpler assembly, we designed the JAMBOX to be portable, robust and have maximum sound output integrity. With its stainless steel construction and industrial-weight molded rubber casing, it is built differently from other typical speakers: All four sides of JAMBOX are wrapped in a single grill to cut down on moving parts. The perforated metal sheaths are textured to reduce vibration, and bear four distinct patterns that visually reflect sound in the form geometric patterns, this brings an artisan quality to the JAMBOX’s pure box aesthetic.

We also designed the communications around the JAMBOX, starting with the simple sneaker-box packaging that romanticizes the original boombox, “that was then”, with new modes of consuming and sharing music, “this is now”.

Check out the video below, showing many possible uses.

More images of the JAMBOX follow.
