Nike Sportswear continues to present interesting and somewhat un-expected styles. A couple of days ago we presented to you the Air Magma Vintage and the Air Lava Dome Vintage. Today we show you th Air Approach Mid Vintage, another hiking shoe, coming in premium materials and vintage looks. It comes in a brown/green colorway.

Mita will be releasing the Nike Sportswear Air Approach Mid Vintage on 4th of October.

Inspired by the Beautiful Losers film documentary, this collection of Nike Dunk Hi shoes was created by Nike, to celebrate Nike Sportswear and Beautiful Losers’ MAKE SOMETHING!! workshops. Starting September 25th at 7pm EST, the collection will be auctioned in collaboration with eBay Giving Works to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going to Children’s Aid Society, who fill the gaps between what children deserve and what life has dealt them, and have been serving children for more than 150 years.

This collection of 15 shoes is one of only 3 sets produced and will not be available at retail. Each shoe is US size 9. The collection will be exhibited at Nike Sportswear at The Montalbán from May 8th through May 17th, when the auction will conclude. A second collection, belonging to Nike Archive, will also be exhibited during these dates at select retailers in New York.

Hiking seems to be a big inspiration for the sneaker companies in the coming months. We have seen sneakers inspired by hiking boots by Adidas and Kazuki just recently and here we show you now an upcoming Nike Sportswear Hiking Boot that will be released in the coming months. It features a brown suede upper and nice contrasting red laces. More information as we get closer to the release.

Carrie Munden of Cassette Playa has created an impressive installation for Nike Sportswear London. Entitled "Split", the installation was inspired by the Nike Split Windrunner. You can create your own split avatar and get a limited edition videoringtone, downloadable to your phone. 
Sound and Sonics of the installation were created by Silverlink. You can view the installation now at Selfridges in London.

Last night saw the opening of the 21 Mercer Nike Sportswear flagship store, the first permanent space of the Nike Sportswear collection. Our friends from Coolhunting did a nice video walk-through of the new space, which turned out quite incredible.

Nike has uploaded a Fall 2008 Sportswear feature and for the first time we see the entire collection, including all jackets, pants, windrunners and pieces by Loopwheeler. Even though you have seen a lot from the collection already it is worth checking it out in its entirety once more.
Furthermore they have included a nice feature on the production facilities of Loopwheeler and essays written by C.R. Stycek and other high profile artists. 
The feature is also impressive, because it is shown full screen. Definitely an experience, so check it out here.

While New York’s Mercer Street is the only place being blessed with a full fledged Nike Sportswear shop, cities across the globe are getting their own taste of the line. We’ve shown you a few places and now can present the set up in London. (Thanks to Joes(a)fiend).
Located in Shoreditch, the location takes an old gymnasium feel. But, that is just one half. The other side is a futuristic neon and black space. Merging tradition and future inspiration and innovation. In essence, the Nike Sportswear mission. 
Beyond the inspired interior design, London’s MODE 2 provided a few 20ft high murals of British Olympians, including the amazing Paula Radcliff.

As part of their Nike Sportswear Fall 2008 collection, Nike presents a series of quality bags. Included in the line-up is the Cheyenne 2000 backpack, Pinnacle Bike Messenger bag and the Sport Duffle bag. 
The Cheyenne 2000 backpack takes clear inspiration from the Visvim bag line-up, coming with an upper material, that is similar to ballistic nylon, waterproof zippers and a premium leather bottom. Also the Pinnacle Bike Messenger comes with some great features and details, while keeping an overall clean look. The duffle bag is a little simpler and probably the least exciting in the line-up.
All three bags are now available in the Nike Sportswear Online Store.

Moscow is one of the eight European cities where Nike Sportswear opened its concept space named 1980 after games that were held this year.. Nike Sportswear is an interpretation of Nike iconic products which is celebrating the legacy of Nike design. During 64 days starting from August, 8 the store will be displaying five legendary Nike products. To tell Nike Sportswear stories Nike collaborates with modern artists, photographers and DJ’s whose art-objects, photos, installations and music will make historic and cultural context visible.

The installation made by Sicksystems (www.sicksystems.ru), a Moscow based crew of graphic designers and graffiti writers was inspired by Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and we present it to you in detail today here.

On August 22nd Nike will be opening a Sportswear flagship store at 21 Mercer Street in New York City. We have seen a lot of pop-up store openings, but this marks the first permanent store opening for the new Nike Sportswear collection, with hopefully more to follow.
Following the design direction that we have seen in other pop-up stores and events around the globe the new 21 Mercer store feature a lot of custom wood paneling and of course a fair share of product exclusives.
