The buzz around Nike Sportswear does not seem to stop any time soon. This past Friday the Berlin 080808 store also opened its doors in the heart of Berlin Mitte. Across the street from Nort Berlin (on Muenzstrasse in the backyard is the entrance), you find the new Nike Sportswear pop-up store, which strikes with great interior design and of course special products, most of which we have presented in the last couple of months. The location is split into a store area and a gallery area. Last but not least you find Nike iD stations to design your own shoes, as well.
The opening last Friday was a great success, with lots of people rolling through. Have a look at the new store and make sure to visit on your next Berlin trip.

To celebrate the launch of Nike Sportswear, they gave the 5th floor of NikeTown NYC the Sportswear treatment. Most impressive is probably the windrunner installation, which goes over several floors.
"To celebrate the launch of Nike Sportswear, NikeTown New York has completely redesigned its 5th floor, dedicating the entire space to Nike Sportswear.

The new NikeTown 5th floor hasn’t just undergone an architectural revolution but it has also completely changed the products on its shelves. For the first time, you will find the best of Nike Sportswear including our newest, pinnacle apparel line, the NSW Collection.

The opening of the 5th floor is marked by a five story chandelier-inspired installation built around one of Sportswear’s most important silhouettes; the Windrunner. Over 200 Windrunners were used to create this towering spectacle and is representative of the diverse nature of this enduring sport icon. The structure’s most symbolic Windrunner is the US Team model which is being worn by our athletes during Opening and Closing Ceremonies and as they claim their medals on the podiums of Beijing.

While the 5th floor revolution is a permanent fixture of NikeTown, the Windrunner installation will be taken down at the end of the month."

Just this afternoon we presented the until today unknown Nike x Loopwheeler Blazer Hi. Now we give you a look at the clothing that Nike has produced in collaboration with Loopwheeler. Loopwheeler is a Japanese fleece manufacturer that produces all of its products on vintage machines, that can only produce very little material, but in extremely good quality. 
As part of the Nike Sportswear Fall/Winter 2008 collection they present the AW77 hoodies, which come in grey with half- and full zips. Furthermore they present the Pinwheel crewnecks and classic grey crewnecks.
Here below is a great video, produced by Peche Noir (Miktor & Molf). Inspired by Nike and Loopwheeler, beat collective Pêche Noire held a studio session in dedication to the craftmanship of how the Nike AW77 sweater is made by Loopwheeler in Japan. In the Delta Beats studio, the three Dutch Beatmakers created a musical piece using Japanese samples and drums, with the same care and attention to detail that goes into the Nike AW77.

The final version of the Nike Sportswear website launched only this morning. You can read product stories, read up on the latest Nike Sportswear news and events, watch videos and most interesting they launched the Kicks Creator. 
With the Kicks Creator you can mix unique patterns, graphics and color combos. Then you can save your creations, email them to your friends and post them up to the Nike gallery.

On the 8th of August the Beautiful Losers will open in New York at the IFC Center. 
"Presented by NIKE SPORTSWEAR, the film chronicles the lives and creative process of artists including Shepard Fairey, Margaret Kilgallen, Mike Mills, Barry McGee, Jo Jackson, Chris Johanson, Harmony Korine, Stephen Powers, Geoff McFetridge, Thomas Campbell and Ed Templeton, among others, whose DIY attitudes informed the aesthetics and ethos of their generation.
To further commemorate the film’s release, Nike’s Sportswear’s JESSE LEYVA has also created a series of 22 Beautiful Losers Dunks emblazoned with iconic stills from the movie using the company’s new high-resolution digital printing process. Says Aaron Rose of the project, “We went back to the documentary and pulled frame stills of what we felt were key moments in the narrative. We used these moments to tell the Beautiful Losers story using the shoes as a medium, with the end result being a collection of works of art.” Viewed together, the shoes reflect the overall narrative of the film, and after being exhibited at the NYC and LA “Make Something!” workshops, two sets of the shoes will be auctioned off with proceeds donated to the Children’s Aid Society." As mentioned above, two sets of the shoes will be auctioned very soon. We cannot remember the last time we were as excited about a set of shoes – a true collectors piece.

The Nike Cortez has always been a favorite and as part of the Nike Sportswear Fall 2008 collection it comes back in premium materials and design. Nike proposes a variety of new colorways and themes for the classic.
Expect the Nike Sportswear Fall 2008 Cortez to be coming to stores very soon.

New York’s Capsule tradeshow is in full effect and very busy these days. We passed by the Nike booth today and took a first look at the Sportswear Spring 2009 collection. 
Dubbed "Earthquake" collection by us, for lack of a better description, Nike presents a series of pieces in the line. Backpacks, travel bags and windrunners all feature a photographic print all-over.
The collection will definitely find its fans.

Nike has impressed everybody with their new Sportswear offering that was presented in Beijing a couple of months ago and started releasing this month. Now the website of the new collection has been launched.

During the Beijing events by Nike we already showed you a grey version of the upcoming Nike Sportswear Fall ‘08 Cortez. Here we show you another one in navy/white. Really clean and an instant classic. 
Expect these to be released this summer.

We present you the Nike Air Max 90 out of the Patent Pack, which is part of the Nike Sportswear Fall ‘08 collection. The all white AM 90 comes with patent leather on the side panels and a mesh toebox. In contrast to the simple upper the sneaker features a multicolor outer sole.
Expect these to be released in the coming months.
