News about Staple working on a new Airwalk collection were received with mixed feelings, especially because of the association with Payless stores. Today we can give you a first full look at one of the sneakers that resulted out of the collaboration. The mid top sneaker comes in brown leather and aside from the laces keeps its subtle looks. Nothing to complain about, a clean and simple sneaker that will be retailing for no more than 50 USD when it comes out in August 2009. Staple presents images of their new Spring 2009 Collection. When we have in previous seasons seen an influx in cut-and-sew in their collection, the new Spring 2009 Collection seems to offer a little less of that and again more t-shirts. That is in our opinion not negative at all, especially because the t-shirts this season are the strongest that we have seen from Staple in a while. Smart design, nice colors and a lot of them. They also present some nice photoprint pieces with classic NYC photography.

Bread & Butter Barcelona was a hectic week and we are finally getting into our rhythm again. A while back we showed you a preview of the Highsnobiety x Flake.tv video series and promised more to come. Today we start with our first interview from the show floor. Jeff Staple was nice enough to walk us through his upcoming collections.

We present you the last drop of the Staple Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The most interesting items in this release are probably the shirts that come with matching tie. Furthermore the NYC brand presents a series of t-shirts, mostly coming with skeleton graphics of all kind. Via Jeff Staple.

After releasing the “Pigeon” Dunk SB and more recently the “Pigeon” New Balance sneakers, Staple has worked with Converse on a Chukka like “Pigeon” shoe. Coming with a light grey canvas/leather upper, it features a white sole, salmon accents and with the iconic pigeon embroidery on the tongue. Via BKRW/Hypequest.

We present you the latest delivery of the STPL Fall/Winter 2008 collection. They continue to present nice cut-and-sew pieces, this time including leather jackets, cord pants, wool coats, as well as a solid line-up of hunting inspired shirts. Last week Staple Design presented Downshift Session 2008. The event celebrates automotive design, music and gaming. In conjunction with Grand Tourism, visitors engage in virtual time trials. Music was provided by Kid Sister. Staple and Haze both put their hands to Lotus automobiles and each was rather successful.

As usual Staple presents a nice mix and offers both bold designs, slogans, as well as smart and more abstract graphics in the collection. We get a first deep look at the STPL Fall/Winter 2008 collection, entitled this season “The Science Of Life”. The brand continues to develop the cut & sew part of the collection, which now represents the majority. You will find trench coats, button downs, outerwear and some nice accessories in the new line-up. The details on every piece certainly stand-out and you will always find a little twist, even if it seems classic at first – bottom line a smart collection, from what we can see so far.
