In an interesting move Comme des Garcons SHIRT has teamed up with George Lucas and his Star Wars franchise for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2012/13 Collection. Known for its patchwork dress shirts, the sub-line by Comme des Garcons added Yoda and Darth Vader characters to the new collection, as well as script based designs hinting at the collaboration. We have seen Star Wars collaborations with everybody, ranging from Moleskine, Burton to A Bathing Ape, therefore we are not exactly sure how this fits in and if it was necessary or even a good idea.

In 2009, thousands of Internet users were asked to remake “Star Wars: A New Hope” into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted and within just a few months SWU grew into a wild success. Now they’ve released a full feature-length film that contains hand-picked scenes from the entire StarWarsUncut.com collection. What a production!

Volkswagen previews their 2012 Game Day Commercial today and they continue with the Star Wars theme that was introduced in earlier commercials in 2011 already. The Bark Side – a bunch of dogs are barking the Star Wars theme music, the Imperial March theme. Genius! We cannot wait to see the fill thing.

To mark the opening of next month’s Star Wars Miniland at Legoland Windsor, some UK Legomasters created a series of Star Wars Lego miniatures invading London. Now that’s good promo.

For the second time Bape teams up with Star Wars on a full collection of clothing and accessories. Next to hoodies, jackets and lots of t-shirts, they produced for this new collection cushions, tote bags, plush toys, glasses, key chains, cellphone charms and a lot more, all featuring remixed characters of the iconic Star Wars trilogy.

The new Bape x Star Wars Collection 2 will get into stores on January 1st, 2012.

We have seen Evian do a series of collaborations already on their water bottle. So why not this one? Mandy Brencys presents her series of Star Wars themed bottles, featuring a different character from the film series on each bottle. This is unfortunately. not an official collaboration that you will see in stores any time soon though.

Papercraft can be one of the most amazing things. What we always find most impressive is the amount of detail and patience needed in the craft, in order to achieve the very best. Today we take a look at Spanish illustrator Lobulo Design producing a papercraft illustration of the central character from Star Wars – Darth Vader.

Today we come across the photo series ‘Dark Lens’ by photographer Cédric Delsaux. The artist recreates hyper real cityscapes and includes Star Wars vehicles and characters into his photos. The Millenium Falcon sits in between construction in Dubai and Jabba The Hutt is found in a ruin in Paris. While the photographer first ventured out to capture modern landscapes, the idea of adding sci-fi characters only came after and he ended up getting a photography prize for the series.

The book “Cédric Delsaux: Dark Lens” has just been published by Éditions Xavier Barral of Paris and is being distributed in the United States by D.A.P.

Last month we previewed the Burton x Star Wars Snowboard Collection, featuring some of your favorite characters from the iconic film series. Today we get a further look at the line and come across the R2-D2 helmet. Instant classic and certainly a nice accessory to have on the slope to make some heads turn.

From Lilsnob – “For Halloween, Laika House artist Katie Mello has created the ultimate costume for her dog Bones; a Starwars inspired AT-AT suit.

To create the costume, Katie first had to make a foam replica of Bones as to minimize the fitting on the actual dog. She than created a special hand made “speed suite” patterned after a pair of pajamas the dog wore at night. The suit was than painted to resemble the All Terrain Armored Transport.

The body is made from foam sheets that hardly weigh anything. Once painted, Katie hand sewed a lining into the body to pad and secure it to the dog. Finally, she made little feet covers out of yogurt cups, and voila! He looks straight out of Star Wars.”
