Last week we announced the Love & Guts: Eyes Wide Open art show in New York. Today we can give you a recap of the happening at the Red Bull Space in NYC. Chad Muska, Steve Caballero, Pat Ngoho and may others were all in place for the show.

“The show historically has been centered around the art of skating legends Lance Mountain, Pat Ngoho, Steve Caballero and Steve Olson, but has gone on to include many other skaters from skating’s past and present. For Eyes Wide Open NYC, the show enlisted the talents of Chad Muska, Armando Roura, Don Pendelton, Giovanni Reda, Dennis McNett and Ivory & Shelter Serra whose work will be accompanying that of Mountain, Ngoho, Caballero and Olson.”

Most of you should know that Vans has just released the “Off The Wall” book. For the occasion they are hosting a friendly competition for the best “Off The Wall” logo. Some great artists participated, including Taka Hayashi, Eric Elms, Parra, Steve Caballero, Dennis McNett, Geoff Rowley, Michael Sieben and many more. Vans presents this season the Caballero Legends Pack. Honoring Steve Caballero, the pack consists of the Half Cab Pro, Sk8 Hi and the Era. All three come in a black, dark red design, with the graphics being influenced by one of Caballero’s most recognized Powell Peralta decks.

Vans is going strong this year and impresses with both their basics and specials. For their next Legends pack, Vans decided to create a pack dedicated to Steve Caballero.
The pack consists of a Sk8-Hi, an Era, and naturally, a Half-Cab. All three sneakers are Pro editions with upgraded footbeds. Steve wanted to work with an old Powell Peralta graphic, and they decided to pull out elements from his Chinese Dragon deck from 1987. They created a jacquard canvas material for the quarter panels and also applied patterns from the board graphics to the foxing and printed laces. Via Mashkulture.
