Highsnobiety columnist Dante Ross chats with Steve Olson about his new new group show ‘Olson Olson Recine & Associates’ at Nyehaus Gallery in NYC for Curated. Huf recruited five professional skateboard legends, who are also talented artists, to create a summer skateboard series. Lance Mountain, Nata Kaupas, Tommy Guerrero, Steve Olson and Mark Gonzales were each given carte blanche (the only parameters given were that the artwork be in black and white) to create their own Huf deck, right down to the shape. Decks were produced in limited runs of 100 to 150, with each board being hand-screened, laser numbered and laser signed. A matching t-shirt featuring all five signatures was also released. Available now in-store at Huf.

Other than Max Schaaf, Vans Syndicate also got together with skate legend Steve Olson. He used to be one of the best skaters in the world in the 70’s, especially in the bowl.
Vans Syndicate worked with him on a pack of two sneakers for Fall ‘08. There is a high top and a low top sneaker, both coming in black with suede snakeskin on the upper, white mid sole and toe cap.
The Vans Syndicate x Steve Olson pack will be dropping just after the WTAPS releases this summer.
